Full name: James Lochlan Stuart IV
Age: 16
Birth date: December 5th 1881
Brief Description: (direct quote from Exiled, chapter 1, paragraph 1) ‘The drawn face of the
taller was partly concealed by his midnight-black, shoulder-length hair. The
deep-blue robes he wore did little to conceal his lean build. With every word
he spoke, striations in his jaw muscles contracted and relaxed. Despite being
in his mid-teens, his concerned expression and the weariness in his eyes gave
him the look of a much older man.’
Neither of James’s parents believes in magic or
sorcery at the time James was born. In September of 1885, James’s father
meets a man named David Ogilvy who reveals the existence of magic as well as
something even more shocking –Ogilvy believes James is the anointed one. The one prophesied by the greatest of all
Seers to end the dreaded Epoch Terminus. (The destruction of all sorcerers.)
After some convincing, James’s parents come around
and integrate themselves into this society they previously believed was nothing
but make-believe. They became bent upon educating James in the ways of sorcery
along with keeping him safe from those who would use him for ill deeds.
When James is just twelve years old, his father is
killed protecting James from a group of would-be kidnappers. James blames himself for his father’s death
and carries the heavy burden of guilt and anger with him as he matures.
Nearly four years later, James is convicted of
murdering his mentor, Akil Karanis, by the council of sorcerers and banished to
The Never (think Alcatraz for
sorcerers). James must find a way home
in order to prove his innocence and stop the Epoch Terminus. There is only one
problem; no one has ever escaped The
Never once they’ve been banished.
SYNOPSIS
Margaret lives in a constant state of fear. Fear of her mother, whose constant state of anger and unwillingness to speak of Margaret's past have long since pushed Margaret away. Fear of disappointing her father should he ever discover the events of that day. Most of all, Margaret lives in fear of her abuser's return. Margaret turns to self-harm to cope with her pain and fear. Only when her self-inflicted injuries bring her near death does she realize she has the power and the support from an unlikely place to stand up to her fears and believe in herself again. Tristis Manor is a novella from The Never Chronicles, an epic fantasy series.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
J. R. Wagner was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, during a blizzard. The snow made travel by car impossible, so his father called an ambulance when his mother went into labor. The ambulance became stuck at the bottom of their home’s driveway, prompting the dispatch of a fire truck, which towed the ambulance to the hospital where he was born.Maybe it was this experience that destined J.R. to love adventure.
A competitive cyclist, triathlete, mountain biker, and adventure racer, he once received a medal for saving a woman’s life during the kayaking section of an adventure race.
J.R. drafted his first story, a sequel to Return of the Jedi, when he was ten years old. A self-proclaimed Star Wars geek, he had lofty aspirations of working with George Lucas on filming the project. In 1990, he began filming his version of The Lord of the Rings in his parents’ basement, but the plug was pulled after he nearly burned down the house. Since then, J.R. has written two full-length screenplays and a thriller novel.
After graduating with a kinesiology degree from Arizona State University, J.R. returned to Pennsylvania, where he took up writing once again.
He began writing Exiled while vacationing in Maine.
