Review + #Giveaway: The World Without A Future by Nazarea Andrews #TWWAF

The World Without a Future
by Nazarea Andrews

She was born the day the world ended…

Nurrin has lived her entire life with zombies—trapped behind walls meant to keep them safe. She’s mostly happy there. But when a zombie horde breach the walls of her Haven, she has to trust her brother, Collin, and his best friend to keep her alive.

He just wants his past to die…

Finn O’Malley has given up on voicing warnings that are ignored. No one cares that the zombies are changing. Now all that matters is keeping Collin and Nurrin safe from what’s outside the walls of a Haven. But when Nurrin’s best friend picks up a contact infection, he agrees to get the medicine needed to save his life. Forced together, relying on each other in a strange Haven, zombies aren’t the most dangerous thing they’re facing.

In their world, only one thing remains true: everything ends in blood.

REVIEW

I'm not a huge fan of Dystopian novels, and neither do I particularly enjoy reading about zombies, but this book blew me away. It was fantastic. I was so enthralled, I literally finished this book in three hours because I was glued to my Kindle.

Andrews is an amazingly talented author, who has created and exciting, fast-paced, action-packed thrill ride that kept me riveted all the way through. This story reminded me a bit of Julie Kagawa's Blood of Eden Series, only the psycho-crazed vampires and Rabids were replaced with Infects/zombies and a weird bunch of cult members out for blood; but Andrews's zombies are not your normal slow-moving, moaning variety - they're fast, vicious and determined.

Ren's story was interesting, and there was a bit of mystery behind why it was so important for her to go unnoticed on Day One. I had to wonder why this was so important, and what made her so different from everyone else, besides having been born on the day the world, as we know it, ended. When the truth was revealed and she witnessed first hand how evil the Order was, my heart was in my throat and I was so nervous that she'd be discovered and become their next victim.

I gravitated towards Finn immediately. He was this arrogant "there's-no-one-like-me" bad boy but his actions spoke louder than his angry words, and when the story switched to his POV his thoughts and feelings came through even louder. He had a good heart but something in his past made those walls stay up, and he still seemed to be running from it.

I'm excited for this series to continue. I'm excited to see what will transpire between Ren and Finn, and what really happened to Collin and Dustin. Will the zombie hordes wipe out all the Havens, or will the uninfected find a way to take back the world?
