This book was true love personified. A story of selflessness and sacrifice. A story of undying love, dedication, and hope. It shattered my heart while at the same time making me smile, and filling me with joy.
The characters worked their way into my heart and have never left. They live with me every day, because their story truly touched me, heart and soul. This story was well paced and flowed easily off the pages. With a complex love story that was passionate but in an understated way, making it more believable, and one that cannot easily be forgotten. Sacco is a artist in his own right, creating a beautiful masterpiece that will render you speechless.
I could not pull my eyes away from this book, not even for a second, but there was a moment when I thought I could not read any further for fear that I'd turn into an emotional basketcase. That special moment when Chris speaks to Anne outside the hospital, and the entire world tilted in a different direction. I could not keep the tears at bay, and my heart broke for this amazing man whose selfless act of love and kindness spoke volumes. That one moment of clarity, and all the events that followed made me question my own life. It made me want to be a better person. Chris had a beautiful soul. One that had been tarnished a little by the struggles and obstacles thrown in his path, but when the time came for him to shine, he did in the most courageous way. And at the moment, I lost a piece of my heart to this gorgeous man.
This book will make you fall in love again, it will capture your heart, and it will make you see life in a different light. It was a stunning read.
