Publication Date- June 2014

In an instant, Detective Morgan Carbone's life changes from day to night. Sociopath, serial killer and charmer, David McAllister won't reveal where the bodies of several young women are located but Morgan is determined to get answers. She gets more than she bargained for when during an interrogation he attacks her by sinking his teeth into her hand. Though the wound heals quickly and perfectly, it leaves her with an insatiable bloodlust as she has now turned into a werewolf like her serial killer nemesis. With her world no longer as she knew it, she is propelled into a dramatic, action-packed journey that includes being forced to leave the country to kill an ancient vampiress. However, when Morgan sees her intended target, she finds that not only does the woman remind her of her one true love whom she lost years before, but she is falling for her as hard as she did with her former lover. Now Morgan must decide whether to complete her mission or risk her own life by giving in to her heart's desire.

REVIEW
When I read the blurb for this book I was instantly hooked. It promised to be an exciting story, and it was for the most part. DeJesus certainly doesn’t mince words when it comes to the ferociousness of her characters and in no way have they been romanticized, which was a great change from the norm.
I was even more thrilled by this book with the introduction of The Bloody Countess. I have always been fascinated with her, and I liked how she was given a bit more of a human side, even though the blood thirsty monster was always there ready to strike. It was also intriguing how similar Morgan and Elizabeth’s lives were.
This book was enthralling, but for all its merits, the way in which it was written was quite distracting and never allowed me to fully get to know the characters. It felt like I was reading snippets of a story with the constant scene changes. I also felt that Morgan’s feelings were very conflicting. I can understand that she didn’t like being seen as a monster, but it was as if everything was amazing and she would never want to go back to her old life one second, and the next she hated being cursed etc.
This book was an interesting take on werewolves, and the addition of Lady Bathory was great, I was just looking for more.
