This book was a little different from the usual romance read, making it extremely intriguing. It wasn't intensely passionate but it teased romance and sexiness with every flip of the page.
I loved the conflict that plagued the characters; Lexxi on whether to come out with the truth and Bash on whether to let her little game of disguise continue or not. With this hurdle in the way neither was ever really able to act on their feelings, and it certainly made for plenty of entertainment and confusion...especially when it came to Bash's sexuality.
I admired Lexxi's courage and determination to transform so completely, and her selfless act made her more and more likeable the more this story developed. When the media were ready to crucify her for not caring about her father, I had a good snicker. If only they knew. I liked the fact that she didn't rush back to try save face, instead, knowing what was important and sticking to her guns. She may not have had time for her family before, but she certainly was there when it was most needed.
Bash the firefighter...need I say more!! LOL! He was smoking, and I couldn't wait for him to heat up the pages with Lexxi. I'm sure it would have been explosive and way hotter than any fire he'd ever had to fight.
The only thing that irked me about this book was the ending. I don't have a problem with cliffhangers, but they need to be well-placed and for me this one wasn't. I realize that cliffhangers are meant to leave you in suspense, but with this one it felt like just as I was cresting the climax of this story, the book was slammed shut and I didn't get that complete feeling of satisfaction.
Having said that, I enjoyed the characters so much and I really want to see what happens between them so I cannot wait for Reveal.
