Charles "Wolf" Blackwood likes the game. He likes chasing a new girl every week, loves seducing them and earning their trust. He doesn’t like to keep them.

But Scarlet is different--she always has been.

The chase has never been quite as intoxicating as it is with her, the feisty sub with an innocent streak a mile wide. He wants to keep her, but Scarlet already has a Dom, and Hunter has no intentions of giving her up.

But Wolf is in for a surprise when he realize Scarlet doesn’t want one of them. She’s playing to keep them both.

REVIEW

Wolf's story was intriguing from the very first word. I had to know more about him and everything that had happened in the past. Everything that led to the point where he found himself in love with someone he couldn't have.

The relationship dynamic between Wolf, Scarlet and Hunter was very interesting - nothing like the usual "love-triangle". There was love, trust and understanding, but still Wolf felt like the odd man out, and what really broke my heart was that he believed he deserved the little bit of happiness he received from time to time.

I enjoyed seeing these three outside of the Kingdom, because Wolf couldn't hide in the shadows as he was so used to doing. It also opened them up to a whole lot of truth and emotion. This story was sensual and sexy, but at the same time very heartfelt.

I have loved getting to know each of the characters in this series, but I think I fell in love with Wolf's story more than anyone else's. A great, quick read!

EXCERPT

"While I told Dr. Thresher the dream comes but a few times a month, it’s more like a couple times a week. Only instead, the man, or ‘mystery savior’ as I like to call him, never comes to my rescue in the dream. He never hops off his bike and climbs over the barrier and onto the ledge himself. He never talks to me about his own battle with depression, his abusive father, his ugly divorce. He doesn’t convince me to give life another go.
Instead, I jump. And unlike what many go their whole lives believing, I do die in my dreams. I do feel the nerve-rattling fall that seems like forever. And I feel the concrete like water as my skull splits against it.
I smoke a few bowls of Mary Jane to hinder the onslaught of feelings, confusion and desperation the dream always brings. It’s a time I’m not proud of, in a situation I never saw myself in, without an ounce of strength to deal with it all. I’m thrilled to be out of it. I’m even more thrilled to know, in my heart of hearts, that I’ll never be there again… never… but it doesn’t mean I’m not still affected by it all. If only we could erase those heart thrashing memories of our past. If only Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was based on reality. I’d erase every last one of them. I’d get along through life just like everyone else; content and without worry. I know others suffer too. But I also know, regardless of all that, depression doesn’t give two shits about any of it. It doesn’t give a fuck about how your peers are getting along, or whatever the fuck it says in the latest self-help book you’re reading. It only cares about you… and how it can tear you apart bit by fucking bit."

Blog Tour: Excerpt, Guest Post + #Giveaway: There’s Something About Nik by Sara Hantz

There’s Something About Nik by Sara Hantz
Genre: Standalone YA Contemporary
Published by Entangled Teen
Published on February 13th, 2017

Nik Gustafsson has a secret: He’s not really Nik Gustafsson.

He’s not a spy. He’s not crazy.

He’s just the son and heir to one of the most important families in Europe—one where duty always comes first. And his posh, too-public life is suffocating him. So when he gets the chance to attend boarding school in America, pretending to be an average exchange student is too big of a temptation to pass up.

Then he literally runs into Amber on campus. And she hates him at first sight.
It’s kind of exhilarating to be hated for who he is, not for his family name or his wealth. Maybe if he turns up the charm and turns down the aloof mask he habitually wears, he can win her over. Even though a bad past experience has made her swear off dating this year.

But the more he gets to know her, the more uncomfortable he is keeping things from her.
Because Nik Gustafsson has a secret. And it’s a big one.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains a hot boy who’s the strong and silent type, a studious girl who refuses to believe in fairy-tale romance, and one epic secret that could be disastrous if it comes to light.

EXCERPT
Nik drew in a long breath. He was in uncharted territory and didn’t know how to proceed. He’d never met anyone quite like Amber before—specifically, anyone who showed such disinterest in him. Was this what being normal felt like? To be ignored or dismissed like he wasn’t important? Suddenly, he wasn’t so sure if he liked it. He surreptitiously studied her, while she did everything she could to avoid eye contact. She certainly wasn’t his type, if indeed he had a type. His previous girlfriends had all been tall with blonde hair, which would imply that he did. Then again, in his country, most girls he met looked like that.
Amber was small, at least a head shorter than he was. Her dark brown hair seemed ridiculously short as it framed her face. A pretty face with freckles. And what was it with that camera she hugged close to her, like it was something so precious? He’d hoped that in America he’d finally be away from people constantly trying to get a shot of him. Yet, the first day here, he’d met a girl who seemed obsessed with taking photos. No wonder he’d frozen up around her.
“What are you staring at?” Amber’s question brought him back to the present with a start.
“Nothing,” he replied abruptly, feeling like a small child being caught doing something wrong.
She reminded him of his old nanny, who’d always said that he shouldn’t stare at people because it made them feel uncomfortable. Most of the time, he didn’t even realize he was doing it.
“It didn’t seem like nothing to me. You were looking at my hair, weren’t you?” she accused.
“Yes. It’s much shorter than I’m used to seeing.” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. He should’ve known better than that. He’d been trained since a child to be circumspect, and here he was, not two days in America, and he was forgetting how to behave.
“Girls don’t have short hair in your country?” Amber challenged, as if daring him to say even more about how she looked.
Which was another thing. All the girls he knew were masters of polite conversation. He had no clue why she was being so unfriendly. He hadn’t been rude to her. Admittedly, he’d been looking at her hair. Well, her hair and also her camera. But surely that wasn’t enough to make her so antagonistic.
Maybe it was a cultural thing. He would check with Josh later whether it was something he’d done by mistake. In the meantime, he couldn’t just stand there in such awkward silence.
“It’s different from girls at home, yes. But it’s very striking,” he added, hoping that would appease her.
She remained silent for a moment, with an expression on her face like he was a bug who had landed on her shoe. “Thank goodness for that,” she finally said, “or I might have had to spend the next several months sitting in my room willing it to grow.”

GUEST POST

“SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME”

From when we’re small we’re surrounded with fairy tales and Disney movies about princes and princesses. We love them. Most of us are familiar with the famous song “Someday my prince will come,” which comes from Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We love anything royal and at some time during our lives many of us will have imagined what it would be like to be royal. To be special and important. To be valued by a whole nation. That’s why we love stories like Cinderella. We see a very ordinary girl meeting and falling in love with a prince. Her life is changed forever.

What’s even more fascinating for us is that these things don’t just happen in fairy tales. Now it’s real life. Take Kate Middleton. An ordinary girl who goes to college in the UK and meets a prince. Prince William. They fall in love, get married and one day she’ll be Queen. It’s an awesome story. In Denmark, we have Prince Frederik who married commoner Mary, who comes from an ordinary family in Australia.

Of course, what we don’t think about is how intrusive being a royal could be. We only focus on the good things. Like having as much money as you need. About travelling around the globe. Or even the more mundane things like not having to do the chores, or having all of our meals made for us. And of course, being able to wear top fashion, which designers fight to have you wearing.

All these things were in my head when the idea for writing There’s Something About Nik came to me.

How about you, have you ever dreamed of being royal?

“Sorry!” I exclaim, noticing a young woman in a purple satin hoody. “I wasn’t looking where I was going!”

“It’s okay,” she says, her voice delicate. “Flower,” she says, a small, polite smile lays upon her pink lips and holds out a freshly cut pink orchid with a pink ribbon around it. “Treasure it.”

I take it, mesmerized by the beauty of the orchid. I look up, but she’s no longer looking at me and starts to slip away, but I grab her wrist before she can disappear.

“Thank you,” I tell her, grateful.

“No,” she starts to say, a bright smile bears her teeth. “Thank you.”

I let her go, leaving her to continue on through the groups of people.

“Ashley!” Lawson yells above the crowds and I look up to see him using a street light to get him higher than the crowds of people. “C’mon!”

I look once more behind me, noticing the blonde’s gone. I face toward Lawson who urges me to get to him and I listen. I keep the flower close to me and make my way through the masses. I catch up, the flower protected against my chest as I try to get passed people without damaging it. I make it to the front of a shop where everyone’s waiting and as I fall before them, I allow the flower the breathe.

“That got crazy,” I say, exhaling heavily. “But got given this,” I mention, putting the flower out.

A white tag declaring MARDI GRAS falls from my palm and I look proud with this collectable.

“By who?” Lawson barks, stepping forward to grab my hand. “Who gave you this?”

“I don’t know,” I say, looking at the orchid. “Some girl … she had a hood up, but she was blond. Why does it matter?”

Lawson says nothing, but takes the flower from me. His gentle with it, delicately touching it as if it’s the most fragile things he’s ever been given. I watch him pick at the ribbon with the tag on it. His face pales and he returns his gaze to me.

“It’s got your name on it,” he states and he spins the Mardi Gras tag to show my name in clear, curly red lettering.

My heart sinks.

“What?” I ask, reaching for it. “How is that possible?”

“Where is she?” he asks, his voice taut. “Which direction did she go in?”

“I don’t know,” I tell him, trying not to let fear get a grip on me. “Back towards our balcony, I guess. Who gave me this?”

I can see that Lawson doesn’t want to reply. His jaw becomes tight and he wets his lips, shuffling between his feet. I also see his effort not to run in that direction making the situation even harder to understand.

“Lawson,” I say, trying my hardest not to sound frightful. “What the fuck is going on?”

My question puts him more on edge, so he’s looking over his shoulder at everyone behind him. It’s now I see that they all hold the same solemn, bereaved look he did when he saw the pink orchid. Slowly, he turns back to me with a severely grave look in his eyes and he seems to have entered a trance as he looks back at the orchid. Gradually, he brings his eyes from the flower to mine and I see fear in them.

“She’ll rain down petals before she rains down hell,” he whispers, reluctantly giving me the flower back.

“What?” I ask, feeling my brow tightening. “What the hell does that mean?”

“Ashley,” Lawson starts, trying to steady his voice as his eyes fall once again onto the flower in my hand. “That’s the mark of death.”
