From the author of the Fate series and The Deep End of the Sea comes a fantastical romantic adventure that has Alice tumbling down the strangest rabbit hole yet.
After years in Wonderland, Alice has returned to England as an adult, desperate to reclaim sanity and control over her life. An enigmatic gentleman with an intriguing job offer too tempting to resist changes her plans for a calm existence, though. Soon, she’s whisked to New York and initiated into the Collectors’ Society, a secret organization whose members confirm that famous stories are anything but straightforward and that what she knows about the world is only a fraction of the truth.
It’s there she discovers villains are afoot—ones who want to shelve the lives of countless beings. Assigned to work with the mysterious and alluring Finn, Alice and the rest of the Collectors’ Society race against a doomsday clock in order to prevent further destruction . . . but will they make it before all their endings are erased?
REVIEW
Absolutely stunning!
This has got to be the most adventurous and enthralling read I have ever read and it most definitely will be my top pick for favorite book of 2014.
Anyone who loves the classics will fall in love with everything about this book and anyone who doesn't know the classics will love being introduced to them in a brilliantly unique way, from the exciting mix of characters to the magical elements of Timelines and the such. I felt like I was on a treasure hunt, and each time a new character appeared, and I recognized them from their original story, it was like finding gold.
I particularly enjoyed spending every second with Alice. She started off quite demure, but as the story developed she became this fierce character who could hold her own against the best of them, and once the truth about her time in Wonderland was revealed, adding layer upon layer of fascinating twists and turns, it was obvious that Carroll's Alice did a lot of growing up between the time of her creation to her appearance in this book. She was kickass!
Everything about The Collectors' Society was pure magic. Lyons' has created a story that will suck you in so deep you will be lost for hours, and you will not want to be found, that I guarantee you.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Heather Lyons has always had a thing for words—She’s been writing stories since she was a kid. In addition to writing, she’s also been an archaeologist and a teacher. Heather is a rabid music fan, as evidenced by her (mostly) music-centric blog, and she’s married to an even larger music snob. They’re happily raising three kids who are mini music fiends who love to read and be read to.

My favorite fairy tale...hmmm...I have always loved Alice in Wonderland. Even more so after Tom Petty did a music video of "Don't come around here no more" centered around Alice in Wonderland. Plus I have always loved the Cheshire cat, who doesn't.
