“God, I missed you,” he breathed before his lips crashed into mine. This kiss, unlike any other we had shared before, was almost bruising in its intensity. When I opened up to him, he groaned, drinking the air from my lungs like a man who was parched and I was his only source of water. My hands roamed his body. His muscles twitched as my fingers explored and I loved knowing that he reacted to my touch. That in some way I affected him as much as he did me.
Kian’s hand dipped under the hem of my shirt and the heat of his hand on the bare skin of my back sent me over the edge. I released a whimpering moan in his mouth. Kian reacted, his Talent kicking in, and the next thing I knew he had picked me up and turned around and to press me against the wall. My legs wrapped around his waist and I felt his desire for me. I ran my fingers through his soft hair, pulling just enough to elicit a slight sting, the roughness of my touch spurring him on as he pressed himself against me.
I bit his lip in response and he trailed kisses down my neck, sucking and licking the hollow behind my ear. I arched my back, wanting more of him. His name escaped my lips in a shuddering breath and Kian’s lips found mine again. We were lost in each other when a loud cough followed by a snicker brought us back. Kian smiled against my lips as we kept our hold on each other.
“You’re literally two feet away from Sadie’s room.” Luca laughed. “I can understand the heat of passion, but come on guys, no one wants to see you two dry humping each other.”
Kian and I disentangled from each other and I stepped around to greet Luca while straightening my shirt. I felt a little self-conscious about our PDA, but not even the least bit ashamed.
“Hey Luca. What’s up?”
Luca bent over at the waist and laughed. “I’m not even going to answer that.”

Guilt plagued me and I felt sick. Getting out of bed, I paced the room, running my hands angrily through my hair. I didn’t want to hurt Hayden. Keeping her away would protect her from my life. She was bound to leave me anyway. I’d fuck up somehow and it would ruin her. What the hell was I talking about? I’d already fucked her up.
“Derek?” Her voice was like honey, silky and sweet. I’d imagined what it would be like to hear that voice screaming my name as I fucked her over and over. Last night had been the best night of my life, but it had scared the shit out of me. I couldn’t shake it. “Derek, are you okay?” she asked. Stopping midstep, I turned to face her, and her eyes widenened when she got a glimpse of my face. I could only imagine what she saw. So many emotions battled inside me. She held the blanket to her chest, and her lips trembled. “Please tell me this wasn’t just a game to you,” she whispered.
Swallowing hard, I sat down on the edge of the bed and reached for her. She recoiled from my touch. “None of this was a game, Hayden. Last night was fucking amazing.”
Her eyes glistened, but her jaw was firm. “Then why are you looking at me like that? Like you regret what we did.”
I wanted to touch her, but last night had been my only chance. She’d never let me close to her again. “I don’t regret it, but eventually you will. You’re not the only one who’s lost someone they cared about. I can’t go through it again. It’s best to stop this before it goes any further.”
“Any further?” she scoffed. She waved her arm around the room, her anger so thick I could cut it with a knife. “If you didn’t want it to go any further, then why did you bring me here? Why would you do that to me?”
“Because I care about you,” I said, knowing it made no sense to her.
“Then why are you pushing me away?” she cried.
Standing, I got up and walked over to the window. “You wouldn’t understand.”

(Firework Girls #4)
Publication date: June 28th 2016
Genres: New Adult, Romance

They call us the Firework Girls.
I’m Sam. Let’s get one thing straight. Marriage is fine for some people, but it’s got nothing to do with me. If you knew the truth about my past, believe me, you’d understand.
But hey, I’m not complaining. I’ve got a good job. Great friends. And when I need a little something in the man department, well… I’ve never had any trouble getting that when I want it either.
Then Jack has to come along and screw it all up.
I never saw it coming. I mean, we’ve been friends for six years. Years. But in one moment… one gooseflesh-inducing, world tilting, alarming moment… it all starts to change.
Let me tell you something, the last thing in the world I wanted to do was freaking fall in love. But that Jack snuck right under my radar.
I’m not too happy about it either.
Not one damn bit.

(Jack’s POV)

When I first saw Sam in this hospital bed a couple days ago, I’d wanted to stroke her cheeks and kiss her forehead. She was so frail and sick. I wanted to comfort her. Now she’s starting to get her color back along with a little bit of her orneriness—a good sign—but I still have this pinched, panicked feeling in my chest. I don’t know why it won’t go away.
But now, as I look at her sleeping, that feeling starts to take on a life of its own.
Something warm is blooming in my heart and my chest. Meanwhile a strange, queasy sort of feeling grips my stomach. I don’t just want to pet her cheek and kiss her on the forehead. I want to pull her into my arms and cradle her head against my chest. I want to climb right into this bed and hold her against me, feeling her body against mine from head to toe. I want to kiss her on the forehead, and on her cheeks, and on her lips.
My heart is pounding. That warm feeling is flooding my chest, my arms, my face.
As I realize how badly I want to hold her and kiss her again and again, I feel the entire world flip over.
Oh, god.
Sam.
Is this for real? Is this what I think it is?
I look down at her hand in mine. I want to kiss that too, press my lips against her hand until I make her mine.
I look back at Sam’s face and see her like I’ve never seen her before. My breath catches. My heartbeat is resonating in my chest. Her presence washes over me and envelopes me.
Holy god.
This little voice inside my brain is thinking, But, but, but… we’re friends. Just friends.
We may have been friends for a long, long time, but these feelings I’m having are brand freaking new.
At that moment Ashley comes in, giving me a quick smile before looking at Sam. “Oh, she looks so much better,” she says. She deposits her purse on the counter, flips her long braid behind her, and comes over to sit beside me. “Don’t you think?”
I’m barely breathing. Ashley’s looking at Sam, but I’m looking at Ashley. Maybe my brain is just playing tricks on me. I’m tired from practically no sleep and exhausted from being so freaked out about losing my best friend.
Friend.
So I try it on Ashley. I try to see her the way a man might see her, a man who hasn’t looked at her for years like a sister. But as I continue to stare at her, all I manage to do is draw her attention and make her give me a quizzical look. My heart draws a blank.
I try to imagine kissing her and can’t do it. It’s kind of freaking me out, actually.
“What?” she asks.
“Nothing.”
My voice sounds funny. I look back to Sam and it all hits me again. Bam.
Oh, god.
Oh, god.
Oh, god.
Oh, god.
This can’t be good.

Stormy Weather by Desiree Holt
The storm outside whipping the surface of the bay into whitecaps wasn’t nearly as intense as the one raging inside Zane Colby. The isolation of the cottage on the little island was exactly what he needed, a place to hide and deal with the disasters threatening to destroy him. He was a warrior and used to destruction and devastation, but this time it threatened to push him over the edge. He’d hope in this sequestered environment to reach down and find his humanity again. The last thing he needed was Dara, a waif who nearly drowned in the turbulent water in her haste to run from a violent situation. How would he manage with the two of them locked up together in this situation, a woman with the needs of a sub who had been abused, and him with the needs of a Dom that had nearly destroyed him? Was it possible that in the turbulence of the situation they could heal each other?

A Hero In Disguise by Alta Hensley

The SEAL’s Captive Bride by Sue Lyndon

Betsy Riddle considered it her patriotic duty to lift the spirits of soldiers fighting for their country. Little did she know that her newest pen-pal, Mr. Bossy, would be the one man who stole her heart. With every letter he received, Major Jackson Sommersby knew that the moment this horrid war ended, he’d be taking a certain little minx in hand and showing her that paradise was found in his arms.

Owned by the Marine by Renee Rose
He may live next door, but he sure as hell wasn’t the boy next door.
When Marine Sergeant Rob Gentry moves into his new apartment, the last girl he wants to date is his neighbor. Smoking hot and so cute it makes his teeth hurt, she’s not his type. Too sweet. Too innocent. Too vanilla. …or so he thinks.

After twenty years in the field, Navy SEALs Commander Flynn Dalton is ready to put down roots. Settled at Coronado island, he trains new recruits by day while searching for his perfect submissive by night. Too bad the one woman he wants to claim as his own is too young, too shy, and too damn vanilla. Relegated to the friend zone by the man of her dreams, computer analyst Cassie Hardwick tries to jumpstart her dormant social life by attending a masquerade mixer at an exclusive BDSM club. Oblivious to what is right under their noses, both Flynn and Cassie are in for quite a surprise when the masks come off at Decadence LA.

Her. But Blaze Fielding has big secrets of his own… and very special ways to get

Her Captain’s Command by Isabella Kole

A Little Love by Maren Smith

Their Runaway Bride by Vanessa Vale

Worth Fighting For by Zoe Blake
He is determined to make her his…even if he has to fight her every step of the way. An arrogant, alpha Marine ordering her about is not Sage’s idea of boyfriend material.

A Soldier to Cry On by Abbie Adams
Sergeant Anthony Jerard hunts down the wife of the soldier dying in the hospital bed next to him during the first days after he suffers a traumatic brain injury. He intends to pass on the deathbed apology of which he hasn’t a clue to the nature of. What he doesn’t intend to do, is fall ass over teakettle in love with the often captivating, but more often infuriating, little widow.

Call Sign: Thunder by Livia Grant
Zach wasn’t supposed to be there, but he was Allie’s only hope of getting out alive. Even if she gets out with her life, could she survive the horrific memories of her time in the hands of her diabolical captors?

Passing Through by Alexa Day
The summer’s brought two surprises to bar owner Gigi Deane: the former Army Ranger she hired is the perfect barback, and he takes orders in bed as well as he does on the job. He’s told her that he’s just passing through, but as the seasons change, can she convince him to make their summer thing a little more permanent?

Bound By Her Captain by Kate Richards
The heat between a US Coast Guard Captain and a beautiful, brilliant Soviet scientist might do a better job of melting the polar ice than the ship when they combine forces to hunt down a possible sea monster in Cold War Era Alaska.

With One Hand Behind My Back by Cerise Noble
Irene’s determined to follow her Marine, Drew – the love of her life – everywhere. He leads, she follows; from duty station to duty station, from base to base. When he’s wounded, everything changes. Can she submit to a man who’s body was broken?

Exfil by Bethany Burke
Archeologist Emily Becker’s “simple and quick” clandestine trip into Syria to recover a precious artifact turns out to be neither. Stuck in a bombed out basement with some serious heat on her tail, she needs “exfil,” extraction from a dangerous situation by someone who knows what he’s doing.

Delta Force Mission Specialist Michael Duncan definitely knows what he’s doing. He would fit the bill except for one thing: he also knows Emily, and their history is not a happy one.
Emily doesn’t know if she’s in more danger from Michael or from terrorists, but she’s about to find out.

Aim for Pleasure by Yasmine Hyde
Kerrigan’s military career is coming to an end. At last she will be able to dedicate her time to the business she started years ago with her sister. She just has one more function to put on for the General she works for, then she’ll be bound for civilian life. The night before the event she lets her friends take her out to a bar to celebrate. When a moment of peace turns into a chance at passion, she is drawn in and taken on a ride of ecstasy. She never expects to see the mystery man from her one night of recklessness again, but when he turns up in the place she least expects him, she can’t keep him at arm’s length.

Jaxon returns from a mission just in time to celebrate his brother’s promotion. Hitting the road, he decides to catch up with an old buddy. A detour at a bar winds up being a night to remember. The next day the curvaceous beauty practically falls into his lap again, and seeing it as an opportunity to get to know her better, he pursues.
Can two warriors from two different branches of services, two different paths of life, really find the one in a wanton moment – and can it last for a lifetime?

Their routine never changed. Smack the alarm clock for fifteen more minutes of grunting, snoring sleep. Grumble when the contraption bleeped its nauseating music again. Shower, wake the children in the next room, eat some sugary swill, and leave for a day of school or work. Day, after day, after day.
If I hadn’t already hated these rotting people, their boring lives would’ve put me over the edge.
Unfortunately, my life, or lack thereof, mirrored theirs. An apparition only had so much to do to fill the time. My routine never changed, either, not for over two hundred years. Yes, the families would turn into other families as generations progressed—I lost count of how many had passed—but they were all from the same insane bitch of an ancestor. I wasn’t too particular. All they required was the right name.
The little things kept my sanity. Push the clock out of reach. Adjust the water until it grew frigid or scalding, depending on my mood. If I were really on point, I dumped that slop they shoveled into their mouths every morning onto the floor for the mangy dog. So what if these specific Gypsies hadn’t cursed me. A curse, I might add, undeserved. Two hundred years built enough anger to spread vengeance without prejudice.
Pathetic, but those little things were all I had. Not much else to occupy my time, and as any good haunt would do, I followed the man, Luca, to the city after he dropped his children off at school–every day.
I wouldn’t have been a decent ghost if I hadn’t at least tried to heave him into oncoming traffic as he scurried to his custodian job. I’d been practicing that trick for years, coming so close a few times. Once I perfected it, the push would probably be at the back of the wanker’s grandson. Hell, great-grandson. Unlike them, I had eternity on my side. But one day, a few of the sodding Gypsies would decorate the windshield of a city bus.
Not today, though. Luca weaved around the crowd while I slinked through it, body after body. The beastly man tended to hurry, always late due to his nightly drinking binges, and I enjoyed tripping him up in his rush, a skill I had mastered. A millisecond of physical contact might not get anyone smacked with a speeding car, but stumbling in a hurry irritated even the most patient person, which Luca wasn’t.
“Christ!” He grabbed a lamppost in time to save his face from the pavement. “Knock your shit off. I ain’t got time for it today.”
To an outsider, the bloated man appeared as if he spoke to himself. But I knew better.
“Well, good thing for you I’ve plenty of time for us both,” I answered him. Even though he couldn’t hear me, we’d had plenty of conversations over the years, as I had with his father, and his father before him. I used to rage, scream until my voice grew hoarse. Not a blooming soul ever gave any indication they knew I existed. To answer now became habit, needing to speak to him as if I had a voice left in the world.
Unfortunately, I’d become as much a part of this heathen family as every other bastard whelped by the likes of a Gypsy bitch. My story became an heirloom, passed from generation to generation. The angry ghost of Miryah Kotorara’s curse. No one had the ability to see me, much less hear a damn word I had to say. Bad luck, a faulty alarm clock, a stumble on nothing, all of it blamed on something none of them really believed in. Me.
In truth, no one believed in me except for maybe Luca, probably the reason I chose him to annoy instead of his brother this generation. What good were all my efforts if the person I haunted thought me a fantasy? I was a curse to a god who didn’t exist for the rest of the family. My attempt to scare, kill, or maim them in some way ended up being part irritation, part fun story to repeat at dinner parties.
Even vapor had pride, and the Kotorara clan stomped on it any chance they had.
Luca straightened his jacket and mumbled curses as the crosswalk light blinked to proceed. Oh, to have the power to push his fat, greasy body into a lorry. I swiped at his back, my hand disappearing through his skin and blubber.
One day, you tosser.
As soon as we hit the curb, Luca stopped. If I were matter, I’d have rammed into his back. Instead, I whooshed through his body. Times like these, I was grateful for the lack of senses, not particularly fond of body odor, sweat, and soft man flesh.
“Well, come on, then. Move your bloody arse.”
Even if he could hear, I doubt he would have listened. Luca directed his attention to a sleek building in front of us, a scowl twisting his lips.
I followed his gaze, frustrated as if I were the one late for work. “What has your attention, fat man?” My eyes landed on a woman who focused on the building, her hair so dark it almost shined blue. Her slim shoulders stiffened before she turned—and saw me.

Book Blitz + #Giveaway: The Rock Star’s Secret Baby by Blair Babylon

The Rock Star’s Secret Baby
Blair Babylon

Publication date: June 28th 2016
Genres: Adult, Romance

The first time that Dr. Andy Kumar had seen Cadell Glynn—all six feet, four inches of him, tribal tattoos winding around his arms, fingertips deeply callused from years of pressing steel guitar strings, dressed in leather pants and a tee shirt ripped at the neck that let the tattoos on his muscular shoulders peek through, blue-tipped black hair spiraling in curls and swaying near his shoulders, and fear and helplessness filling his dark eyes at the sight of his sick child hooked up to two different IVs and crying—Andy had known that he was going to be trouble.
Mr. Glynn had interrogated Andy and the other surgeons, asking why, and when, and how, and would it hurt Emily too much.
He had calmed down some after that first week. Some.
After a few weeks, when Emily had stabilized, Mr. Glynn had backed off from the third degree, but he had begun to mention that there were other things in life outside the hospital. Restaurants. Dancing. Concerts. For months.
She should not date him for so many reasons. So many.
Andy wished that the hot rock star daddy would quit asking her out.

Blair Babylon is the nom de plume of an award-winning, USA Today-bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too much deviant sex and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot, sexy, erotic romance, plus wild, suspenseful thrillers, science fiction, and urban fantasy using the super-secret pen name Blair C. Babylon.

Xander Evans has been on the road for many years. Never settling. Always moving from one place to another, unable to let go of his past. He lived a tragic childhood, spending most of those years in foster care. He's never felt like he's had a home. That is until he stops in the small town of Truman Valley, Missouri, where he meets a woman who will change everything he's ever known.

Paige Watson has it all. A loving family, beautiful home, and a great career. The only thing she's missing....is love. After escaping an abusive relationship, she opens her heart up to a stranger. He is unlike any man she's ever met. He came into her life and turned it completely upside down. Everything is perfect. That is, until one fateful night.

A night that would tear the Watson family apart, never to be put back together again.

A night that would send Xander away to prison for life.

"How about twenty questions?" I ask.

"I hate twenty questions."

"How about five questions, then?"

He cracks a smile and lifts an eyebrow. "How about three?"

"Deal!"

"So, have I mentioned how much I fucking hate Tuesdays?" Brandi's voice cuts right between us. Xander looks relieved.

Me? Not so much. "Damn it, Brandi!"

"What?"

"Oh nothing. Can you grab me Fireball though? Pretty please. Two of them." I look at Xander. "You're taking one."

"Three. I am too, bitch! Fuck Tuesdays!" Brandi calls out from across the bar as she begins filling the shot glasses from the Fireball chiller.

"Question one. You said you’ve been traveling for a while now, right? Do you ever get tired of it? Ever feel like settling?”

"Damn. Starting out with the heavy hitters, huh?" He eyes the shot glasses as if hoping it will somehow make them fill faster.

"Need me to go easier on you? Maybe a finger or two first before I go in with the whole fist?"

He looks at me in disbelief. "Did you really just say that?"

"Just answer the question, two fingers or three?"

REVIEW

I was extremely excited to read this book, but I never imagined to be sucked so deeply into this story, with its suspenseful highs and lows, dark twists and raw emotion.

The prologue set up the rest of the story beautifully, with Urruela giving just enough away to snag my attention. I had to know who Xander really was, the details behind the dreadful event that had lead him to this point in his life, and whether or not he was truly innocent.

I loved getting to know each character, and as the story developed so my intrigue grew. I kept looking at certain characters, trying to figure out who was the real perp. It was something that was always at the back of my mind, even as Xander and Paige grew closer, as their relationship blossomed into something more, something real.

Xander was a complex man. With a disturbing start to life that ultimately led him on this journey, his past still haunted him each step of the way. However, he still came off as a well-rounded guy, respectful, sweet and even a little shy, especially when it came to his hidden talent. He wasn’t a complete pushover, though – he was just a real man, flawed but endearing in so many ways, and I couldn’t help caring for him. The same goes for Paige and her family. They were fun and so full of life, genuine people who made you feel welcome, even as a stranger, and it was quite the honor spending a few hours in their company. My heart was wrenched from my chest when tragedy struck and their lives were turned upside down.

Although this book had its dark moments, it also had an ease about it that made it flow right off the page. It was a reminder that there is light in the darkness…you just have to have faith. This was a spectacular read.
