Excerpt + #Giveaway: Coulda Woulda Shoulda Song Series by Danielle-Claude Ngontang Mba

This Could Have Been Our Song! A coulda woulda shoulda ballad…
Coulda Woulda Shoulda Song #1
By- Danielle-Claude Ngontang Mba

Genre-Family saga/ chick lit/ interracial romance/ romantic comedy

Love can be such a “coulda, woulda, shoulda” song sometimes…

Lucia Mpobo-Riddell could have been a dancer like the rest of women of her family but instead she chose music. Marcus Grant could have been a doctor like the rest of his family but instead he chose music. She also could have not fallen for Marcus on her birthday but she did. And Marcus, he could have told Lucia the truth about his real reason for being in Toronto that night, but he didn’t. Now they have to deal with big reveals and consequences: Marcus almost stealing her job and being force to work on an album together. Marcus, because he couldn’t swallow his pride, leaves Toronto and goes home to London. Lucia, because she just couldn’t give up on her first amazing opportunity to produce a whole album. And to complicate the situation further, the band they’re working for is not the easiest one. Mary Gillis, Marcus’ on and off flame, still has a hold on him. Greg McMullen, Lucia’s close friend and former dance partner is back in town and has been in love with her for years. Then there’s Marcus and Lucia, in the middle of their own a professional and personal tug-of- war with each over and the rest of the world. But maybe things could still work out… All things considered, this could have been one heck of a love song!

Review + #Giveaway: On The Rocks by Alyssa Rose Ivy

On the Rocks - Alyssa Rose Ivy

Love is best served on the rocks.
My roommates look really good naked. At least one of them does. I’m sure the other one does too, but I haven’t seen him without his pants on. Living with two guys wasn't something I’d ever considered, but the opportunity fell in my lap, and I’d have been crazy to turn it down.
College went by in a great big blur leaving me with less of a direction than I had going in. Add in a family that wanted nothing to do with me, and my post-college plans were less than clear. What’s a girl to do when she has nowhere else to turn? She moves to the Outer Banks and learns to bartend. After all, it was my horrible bartending skills that led me to my roommate’s bed and into his heart.

REVIEW

I really enjoyed getting to know Maddy and her crazy friends in Shaken Not Stirred, and I was super excited that Macon got his own story, and with Carly no less.
What I really enjoyed about this story was that it wasn't so completely emotional and full of drama, and instead it allowed me to enjoy my time with these two amazing people. They make a smoking hot couple, and the chemistry sizzled. I loved the changes in Macon. Deep down he wasn't really a bad boy, and it just took finding the right girl to bring out the true, loving and romantic guy who graced the pages of this book.
I was also excited that Maddy and Colin were a large part of this story and to see that their happiness continued and grew, in more ways than one.
All, that's left now is for Brody to find his happy ever after and I'll be a satisfied customer.
This story was fun and carefree. I had a blast reading every second of it. I only have one question, though??

Where can I find a clone of Macon?? :)

Review + #Giveaway: Elsker + Tur by S.T. Bende

You don't win the heart of an immortal assassin without making a few enemies along the way. Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs, but when she transfers from her one-stoplight town to Cardiff University in Wales she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn't exactly what she was expecting. He's an honest to goodness Norse God - an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. Kristia's crazy visions are the only thing that can save their realms.

Her orderly life just got very messy.

 REVIEW

I had the pleasure of reading Tur before Elsker, and I recommend you do too. It's free, so why not grab a copy?? ;) Although you don't have to necessarily read Tur first, I just think it is a great set up for the love story that unfolds in Elsker.

I was really excited to get to know Ull more, and if Inga's thoughts in Tur, on his reaction to knowing Kristia would step into his life any minute were anything to go by, I had no doubt this was going to be one fantastic, romantic story.

It was adventurous, fun, and I loved the mythology that went with it. All I know of Asgard is everything I've learned while drooling over Chris Hemsworth, and I enjoyed getting to know the other gods and goddesses. For me, this story was a wonderful and refreshing read because it took on the Norse mythology in a fun way, that stuck to everything I love about this genre but was also different and exciting.

I cannot wait to read the next book in this series to see where Bende will lead her characters.

Inga Andersson is the envy of every girl in Asgard. On the surface she has it all -- great friends, a job as Odin’s personal fight choreographer, and a happy ever after with her realm’s hottest assassin. But when evil invades Asgard, her perfect world comes crashing down. Someone is planning to kill off the gods, and Inga’s best friend Ull is first on their list. With the Norse apocalypse a nanosecond away, Inga has to decide how she’ll spend her final moments of freedom. Because from the moment this battle begins, Inga’s happily ever after will be nothing more than a memory.

Some things are worth fighting for.

REVIEW

This was a great set up to Elsker and I liked that it was more Inga's story because it gave me a chance to get to know some of the secondary characters in the main story. It also gave me a chance to see the relationship between Inga, Gunnar and Ull, and their time on Asgard as warriors. Inga kicked ass and I could understand why she was so frustrated by Orin. Even after proving just how fierce she was he wasn't willing to  give her what she wanted.

This story also gave me a sense of how lonely Ull was and why it was so important for them to travel to Earth to meet Kristia. My heart mealted when Inga thought back to the moment Ull saw Kristia's file, and I was super excited to dive right into their love story.

I'm so excited to be taking part in this wonderful tour for T.A. Foster's, Finding Haven!!

I even have the gorgeous new cover to share with you today :)

Power. Money. Control. Love.

He has all but one.

When movie star, Evan Carlson, discovers his girlfriend’s picture with another man splashed on the cover of gossip magazines, he decides he’s had enough of his fishbowl life and attempts to outrun the media frenzy his relationships have become. Driving until the road stops, he ends up on the remote and quaint Perry Island, where a heartthrob can blend in like the locals and be a beach bum as long as he wants. All that changes when Evan meets Haven Owen, aspiring songwriter and the girl he just can’t get enough of. A summer romance turns into something much deeper and Evan gets tangled in his own web of lies to keep Haven in his life. But when his ex tracks him down, Evan learns there are some things you just can’t outrun.

Is the cost of love, losing all control?

REVIEW

Evan and Haven were such a fun and sweet couple, and I loved getting to know them as their story unfolded.
I will admit, though, that certain events in this story were quite predictable, but I did enjoy going through the motions as Evan and Haven fell in love, as trouble reared its head and hearts were broken, and finally, as these two amazing people found their way back to each other.
For the most part this book was fun and exciting. Evan and Haven’s relationship wasn’t too complex, until the truth was revealed, and they were pretty easy going and carefree. Even though Evan wasn’t completely honest with Haven, I believe that she got to know the real him, and he was able to open up so much more because there wasn’t all the fame and fortune to cause turmoil. The sexual chemistry wasn’t smoking hot but it was there, and I enjoyed the way Haven turned Evan’s dominant side around on him when they were on the ferry toward the end of the book. It showed a playful side to their relationship which was great.
All in all this was a wonderful read, with a few fun and quirky characters, who entertained from throughout.
