#BODYANDBLOOD Blog Tour: #Giveaway and Excerpt

Hello, Therians!
It is an honor, once again, to be featuring The Survivors Series by Amanda Havard on my blog!
The Body & Blood Blog Tour is almost over!!
Have you entered the super amazing giveaway??
You could win an iPad 2 16GB pre-loaded with all three books, plus other awesome prizes!!
I'm even more excited today because I get to show off my new Book Boyfriend!!
Mark Winter **sigh** is gorgeous, sexy, mysterious, and has a killer (literally) naughty, bad boy side that I'd love to get to know better!! I'm so in love with him. If only he'd forget about all the other woman in this series. They keep giving him the run around, dammit!!
Enjoy the excerpt below. It's from Mark's POV and gives you a glimpse into just how charming my Polly can be!!

The game has changed.

Fresh from her first brush with mortality, a fragile Sadie Matthau is playing human with Cole Hardwick while the Survivors endure unimaginable tragedy. Wrought with the first deaths of their own kind, a tyrant who will torture them, and an opponent more terrifying than anyone could have foreseen, the Survivors are facing their end.
Told from three points of view, The Survivors: Body & Blood is a bloodcurdling, mind-bending, heart-stopping ride. As Sadie and the Winters uncover more enemies, more history, and more answers, they find themselves brought closer together and ripped further apart. And all the while, a haunting Alexander Raven lurks at the edge of Sadie’s lifeline, at the darkening fringes of her mind.
As the Survivors descend into chaos, Sadie realizes a painful truth: the deepest of secrets leave the darkest of marks.

Caught between a terrifying fantasy and her own grim reality, Body & Blood is the story of Sadie’s dance with her demons, future, past, and present.

So I worried fiercely. Was I making a mistake in going with Sadie and leaving those two on their own?

No. No. I steeled myself. We had to do what we’d planned.

Besides, I was the strong one. They turned it into jokes and made fun of my general way of life, but it didn’t change facts. I could turn that stupid bloodlust to a nothing feeling if the right mix of other feelings distracted me. I could unlink that particularly lethal urge from all other urges.

. . . like I did later that night when a particularly attractive girl was cleaning up at the hotel bar. She was human, sure, but I was well fed and generally calm in the balmy late-summer night, and/or needing a way to escape my own mind, so she seemed fair game. After showering to get any blood, dirt, or other crime scene remnants off of me, I made my way back down to the bar. Which I knew was closed.

“I’m sorry, we’re closed,” she said as I entered the semi-enclosed area. She kept her eyes to her work.

“Oh really?” I said, slipping into a booth on the other side of the place. “Bummer. And here I was ready for a night cap.”

She laughed, still not looking in my direction. “Nightcap? It’s nearly 6 a.m.”

“Some of us have later nights than others. Surely you understand. You’re here wiping down bar counters, and I’d fare to guess this is the end of your night, not the beginning of your morning,” I said, and I added the charm. The Charm. The one a girl hears in a boy’s voice, and it isn’t a cheesy pick up line, and it doesn’t involve telling a girl she’s beautiful in the first seven seconds of knowing her, and it doesn’t involve anything definable in the least. It’s just charm. Strangeness “and charm. That’s what gets them. Every time.

She looked up. It wasn’t ever what I said. It was the way I said it.

“You have a point,” she said.

I got to my feet. “Well, sorry to bother you. I guess I just travel so much I get spoiled by 24-hour establishments. I can fend for myself in the minibar. You have a good night, cher.” Cher. The familiar colloquialism I picked up — in er, New Orleans — that some people understood and some people didn’t, but somehow the meaning was clear: A casual, less demeaning/condescending/pick-something version of “sweetheart” or something like it. And it always worked.

I turned and headed for the door.

“Wait,” she said. I smiled and then exhaled, regaining the cool before I turned around. Game on. “You can stay. If you want. I could use the company.”

Hook. Line. Sinker.

Other books in The Survivors series:
In 1692, when witch trials gripped the community of Salem, Massachusetts, twenty-six children were accused as witches, exiled, and left for dead. Fourteen of them survived. The Survivors is the first installment of the tantalizing tales of the fourteen ill-fated Survivors and their descendants, who have been content in hiding for over three centuries. Isolated on a Montana mountainside, only Sadie, the rogue daughter, dares to abandon the family's sacred hiding place. But no matter how far Sadie runs, something always pulls her back. On a muggy summer night in Tennessee, she witnesses a shocking scene that will change her life forever. It is the first in a sequence of events that will drag her from the human world she's sought to belong to for over a century and send her back to her Puritanical family and into an uncertain future filled with cunning witches, mysterious nosferatu shape-shifters, dangerous eretica and vieczy vampires, millennia-old mythology, and the search for her own mortality. After all... HOW DO YOU KILL A SURVIVOR? The Survivors will steal your heart and invade your mind. Fall into the pages of Sadie's life, a world so frighteningly similar to your own, you'll find yourself wanting to go to the Montana mountains to find the Survivors for yourself. And it is only the beginning.

The winter is upon us. The Survivors are in chaos. The war is coming.

One year ago, Sadie Matthau was living among humans, existing as one of them. But now she wakes each morning in a house in the Survivors City, listening to the invocations and insults of her family members as they cope with their new future. A war. Rogue abandoners turned monsters. Sadie and the icy Winters living in their midst, bringing the outside world in.

The Survivors: Point of Origin is Sadie's quest to save her family. But can she find what she is looking for when she can barely stomach the Winters wintry demeanor and finds herself distracted by Cole Hardwick s warm heart? Will she be able to uncover her family's history even as the elders grip tightens around her throat? In an action packed ride full of magic and misery, terror and triumph, Sadie Matthau seeks the Survivors beginning just in time to face her end

Amanda Havard thinks in stories. She writes books and songs, tells stories to people over coffee or in elaborate iPad apps, in short films or subtle photographs. Stories are her life. THE SURVIVORS: BODY & BLOOD is her third novel, and is an amalgamation of all of her storytelling love combined. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, a place where creativity drips from the sap of the trees, radiates from the attitude of the population, and seeps from the concrete. The inventor of the Immersedition™ interactive book app, Havard is always looking for the next best story-- and the most innovative way to tell it.

Release Day Launch: Review & #Giveaway: Escaping Me by Elizabeth Lee

 Hello, Therians!

I am super excited to be sharing this amazing book with you all today!

Escaping Me by Elizabeth Lee!!

There's a fantastic giveaway below, so be sure to check it out before moving on!

All she wanted to do was forget. Forget the memory of walking in on her boyfriend in the middle of, well, another girl. Forget how she had her entire life planned out. And, forget about being perfect all the time. Unfortunately, she was Whitney Vandaveer and despite the fact that she moved to the middle of nowhere—she couldn't.

He always knew he would never be more than nothing. No job, no money, no future. Cole Pritchett had accepted the fact that he would always be the screw up and he was okay with it. Until he met her.

Here's the thing they quickly found out—sometimes we all need a little help escaping who we think we are.

Grab your copy now from Amazon!

This has to be one of my favorite reads of the year.

The characters were amazing. I was captivated by their story and I really cared about what happened to them.

Whitney, although a rich city girl, was sweet and quite down to earth for someone who'd been living the high life with daddy. I think she inherited more of her mother's personality, and it shone through from start to finish. Her mom and sister were so much fun, and they all shared this bond that couldn't be broken, even with the many miles and years that had separated them, as well as the devastating secret that made it's way out of hiding. I was glad that although Whit had escaped her normal life to get away from her douche of an ex, it gave her the time to reconnect with her family.

Cole Pritchett...hmmm, just thinking about him puts a huge smile on my face. First of all, I'm a sucker for tattoos, and secondly I have a soft spot for broken, misunderstood bad boys. He was really just a good, genuine guy who'd had a sucky life which ultimately pushed him in the wrong direction. His brother's hard ass attitude was the best thing that could have ever happened to him, and I was so happy that he found someone who was willing to give him a chance. His actions in this story showed a totally different picture of the guy first introduced; not only with his dedication to his work, but also the way in which he treated Whitney.

Things weren't easy for them. They had to deal with their own stubbornness, and then the many outside influences that threatened their relationship, but it only made them stronger, and solidified their love for each other.

At times this book was predictable but I didn't care one bit, I was just so in love with everything about it. It was sexy and sensual, sweet and charming, fun and exciting, and emotionally charged all at the same time. Basically it was the perfect read.

Therefore it deserves a perfect score :)

When I'm not writing or playing the part of wife and mother, you can find me dancing back-up for Beyonce, singing back-up for Miranda, or sunning myself on the beach with a drink in hand.  Here's the thing about being born and raised in a small town—you have a very vivid imagination!  Now, I channel it all to create stories where the girl always ends up with the right guy, first kisses are magical, and a happy ending is just that!

Praise for Jack Stone:

"When you start Jack Stone, make sure you have nothing to do for a few hours – you won’t be able to put it down. I don’t know what I like more – watching Jack dominate in the bedroom or in a brawl."
- A Book Whore's Obsession Blog

"Do not read Jack Stone looking for a happily ever after. Read Jack Stone because you want to be shaken to the core. Read Jack Stone because you are looking for something unique that will rock your world and leave you wanting more. Read Jack Stone because you are looking for a real man that believes in the difference between right and wrong and is willing to fight for what he believes to be right."
- Julia Lake Mills, We Love Kink Blog

"To a woman Jack stone exudes raw, intense sensuality, with his ruggedly handsome good looks and alpha male tendencies. But to a man on Jack Stone shit list he reeks of finely honed menace, determination and all kinds of trouble."
- Nevena Read, Simply Sensational Book Fanatics Blog

'If you think erotica can't appeal to both genders, then you don't know jack. Jack Stone, that is. Author Vivien Sparx has done the seemingly impossible by penning a new series that features all the alpha-male, BDSM sex female erotica readers go weak in the knees for, but also features enough hard-fisted hand-to-hand combat and bullet-blazing gunplay to satisfy male action junkies.'
- Mark Allen

'Jack Stone reminds me a little of Jack Reacher, the hero of so many Lee Child Bestsellers. Jack Stone and Jack Reacher are very different characters with a lot of the same qualities.'
- Tyler Redge

'Vivien Sparx has created a Jack Reacher kind of character and yet made Jack Stone very different to Lee Child's Jack Reacher character. Sparx and Lee Child both write great action but Jack Stone gets a lot more sex than Lee Child's Jack Reacher does!'
- Tiffany Harris

- Trigg Phillips, Author.

“Strip!” he said the word as a command, his voice a deep rasping growl. “Now!”

Celia’s eyes flashed with a spark of surprise and shock. Jack Stone was suddenly a very different man.

Her first instinct was to resist. Her second instinct was to question. But she saw the look in Stone’s eyes and felt a sudden clench of warm desire somewhere deep down in the pit of her stomach. She began to unbutton her blouse.

It was sheer, transparent fabric. Celia undid the last button and slipped it off her shoulders. She draped the blouse over the back of a chair and stood for a moment uncertainly.

“The bra?”

“Yes,” Stone said. “And the slacks. Keep your panties on.”

Celia nodded. She unclasped her bra and slid it off her shoulders. Her breasts were not large. They were firm and pointed. A sudden rash of goose bumps tingled along the length of her arms and she felt her nipples hardening. She closed her eyes. She could almost feel Stone’s gaze upon her and she sensed the first stir of his interest. She felt for the button and zipper of her slacks. Tugged the pants over her hips and slid them down her thighs.

She was wearing brief pink panties. Maybe satin, or maybe silk. Stone wasn’t sure. They were cut high and trimmed with delicate lace.

“Turn around.”

Celia turned. Felt his eyes burning on her skin. Felt the clench of her own body’s wicked arousal grip tightly within her.

“Turn back.”

She turned back to face him again. Then she lifted her head and stared at him with sudden bold defiance and bravado, refusing to let her embarrassment burn her cheeks bright red.
There was a tense tight silence. Stone’s eyes slammed into her as his gaze striped down every inch of her body. He smiled grimly and prowled closer. Celia sensed the raw energy of him arc towards her like an electric current. She felt frozen in place. She didn’t dare to move. He was close – so close that she sensed the raw masculine menace he exuded like a cologne. Stone reached out and cupped the soft smooth shape of her femininity within his hand. Celia gasped in shock. His hand was possessive, demanding – as though he was casually taking hold of something that belonged to him.

Celia felt a tremble of arousal and excitement start in the back of her knee, and shake uncontrollably.

“Spread your legs – and lower your eyes,” Stone said, whispering the words in her ear with such menace that Celia obeyed him instinctively.

“Think of yourself as my property for the next twenty-four hours,” Stone said. “Consider yourself just a mouth and breasts and a tight wet body for me to use when I want, and how I want. There is no time for us to form a relationship, or to build the emotional bonds needed to create trust – so let’s just keep this physical. You belong to me. I own you. You will obey my every command, and you will spend every moment thinking of ways you can pleasure me. Use your imagination. Fill it with images of you surrendering yourself to me, and of me taking you.”

I have written romance stories since I was a teenager and more recently I have focused my writing on erotic romance. One of the things I pride myself on is being able to tell an erotic story without ever using profane or graphic language; it's just the way I like my stories to be.

You can find me on Facebook:

I have had a lot of feedback from my readers and the tone or my stories seems to strike a chord with fans of books like Bared to You by Sylvia Day and Reflected in You by Sylvia Day. I think everyone who reads my kind of stories has already read 50 Shades of Grey and the Bared to You Crossfire novels.
Between E L James and Sylvia Day these ladies are responsible for generating huge interest in the genre of stories I happen to write.
I am sure my stories will never reach the dizzy heights of success that 50 Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Reflected in You have already reached... but I am having fun trying.
