Oh. My. God! Andrews has always been a spectacular writer,
but this dark, twisted tale of love, friendship, loyalty and courage blew me
away. Meet the new Thelma and Louise – EJ and Charlie; partners in crime on the
run from a very dangerous man.
This book was a rush, filled with suspense and intrigue that
had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Andrews did a great job of
creating tension between the characters, pushing them to their breaking point
before reeling them back in and forcing them to endure even more harrowing
events as this story developed.
While EJ and Charlie were a great pair of misfits who got
more and more tangled in this twisted web of lies and deceit, proving just what
loyalty really means, Jacobs was the type of characters you love and hate at
the same time. I was pulled in by his charm and magnetism, and a tiny part of
me hoped that this would be a “…and they all lived happily ever after.” type of
book. But that’s what made this story so fantastic. Andrews didn’t sugar coat
anything. It was gritty and real. Just superb.
