REVIEW

I was really looking forward to reading this series of novellas, and even though the story was intriguing, I didn't quite connect with the characters. It started off fun and exciting as Dane was on a mission to find the his Angel Eyes. I was a little surprised that Korah let down her defenses so easily after meeting Zorro at the Halloween party, but it was a great set up to a story that promised plenty of sexual tension and chemistry between these two broken people.

I felt that Korah's relationship with Christopher could have been brought into the story a little earlier. Although there were hints about her being in a bad relationship, and that being the reason she was so closed off, I felt that once Christopher did reappear in the story the truth about what had really gone on with them was kind of forced on me. I wasn't expecting it and I had to wonder as to why he suddenly showed up back in her life. It was almost too convenient that he appeared, and it was like his abusive ways were thrown in as an after thought, just to create extra tension.

I did enjoy the relationship that blossomed between Dane and Korah. Dane, for all his man-whorish ways was actually really sweet and I felt bad for him because Korah just didn't seem to give him the benefit of the doubt. Even when he tried his best to show her how he felt, and how much she meant to him, she just kept giving him a hard time about it. It may have had something to do with the abuse she suffered in her previous relationship, but I didn't quite get that from her. It was more like she was just too stubborn to see the changes in Dane.

I really wish I had liked this story more. It wasn't a terrible read, but there were a few things that just kept me from enjoying it as much as I normally would have.
