The second book in the Dark Romeo series was definitely hotter and more dangerous than the first. Jules and Roman certain know how to steam up the pages and I thought my Kindle was going to melt with that first scene alone. This entire book was sensual foreplay, leading up to the moment when passion could no longer be denied - it was sexy as hell!

There's something provocative about forbidden love, but when two characters such as Jules and Roman are involved, it makes for an even more intense read. Roman may have played hot and cold throughout this book, and he may have tried his damnedest to ignore his feelings for Jules, but there was no denying the chemistry between them. Each time they were together it set off a spark that left me needing a cold shower. Blake seduced me every step of the way, and sweet lord did she do a fantastic job of it; heightening the sexual tension until it was palpable.

Stepping into the underworld of the Mafia has always fascinated me, but I hope that Roman can hold onto the goodness inside, even as he falls deeper into his family's lifestyle. Jules is the beacon of light he needs to keep him afloat, but with how this book ended I'm not sure what lies in store for either of them. I have a sneaky feeling that there's far more going on that I can even comprehend and this makes me want to next book even more! I need to know what happens. Will Jules and Roman finally get the happiness they deserve...together, or will who they are always stand in the way??

Another brilliant and suspenseful installment in this series...can't wait for more.

Well what can I say? If you've picked up a copy of this book, let me start by thanking you for taking a chance on my work. Your support and encouragement means the world to me. Unworthy is classed as a dark romance, however it is very unlike any of my other dark romance titles. Sorry, no serial killers here haha. But don't worry, there still is a few twists, twists you would expect from a Cassia Brightmore book, including an ending that I don't think (well I hope) you won't see coming.

 

This book has been a year in the making, and if I'm being very honest, I've struggled with getting it released into the world. You see, the story of Maisie is my story. Her journey is my journey, her pain is my pain, her successes are my successes. While yes, there is fictional pieces of the plot added in for entertainment value, the bare bones of her story are my experiences.

 

So, why did I decide to release this book into the world, you ask? Well my hope is that anyone else that has had a similar journey to mine can find meaning in this book. My wish is that you discover that if you find strength in the things in life that try to break you down, you can still turn things around and make a better life for yourself. No matter what obstacles life hands us, there is always a chance to find the way through them. Don't give up, and above all else, don't doubt your ability to shine.

 

Behind every smile, every laugh, there is a human being hiding some sort of personal pain. Remember to always be kind to each other, to not give up, and to fight until you get the treatment that you deserve. Be brave, be fierce, be you.

There are a few things that will never change, despite everything else that has. When I call, my sister will come. Always. It is the unshakable truth that my entire world is built on, from my first memories to this day. So when I piece it together, I don’t think. I slide my phone out, even in the hospital room while Iris murmurs at her brother and Heath eyes me like I might break her. Stupid boy. I already have. I text her and slide the phone away. I don’t need to watch to know she’ll answer, any more than I need the answer to know she’ll be at my apartment when we return. This is Artemis, who has made a life of taking care of me and worrying about me. I listen to Heath and Lily talk around Iris, listen to her increasingly fragmented babble, and when Heath sends Lily a confused look, I intervene. Catch her hand and let a thin trickle of power seep from me to her. “We had a very long day, and she didn’t sleep well. I think I should probably take her home and let her get some rest. Do you mind?” Heath does. I can tell, the way he’s bristling but Iris slumps into me and yawns, impressively, backing up every lie I’m spinning. “I’ll be back tomorrow, ok? You just. You rest. I’ll be back tomorrow.” She’s still looking over her shoulder when I pull her from the room. Her eyes are wide and serious when we duck into a stairwell. "What happened to him?" she asks. Staring at me like I might give her answers. Like she has the right to demand answers from me. Smart girl. I tuck her hair back, behind her ears and ignore the low growl of warning it earns me. "If I promise to tell you when we reach my apartment. Will you trust me a little bit longer, sweetheart?" Her eyes narrow. "Last time we got to your apartment, you and I didn't do much in the way of talking." I grin at that. Because. Fair point.
