Hates: High heels, hitting on guys, the never-ending embarrassing moments that seem to plague her life, lying in general (yeah, I see the irony here), and, what did I forget? Oh, right. Ollie!

Guilty Pleasures: Reality television binge watching sessions with Bridget, and, um, secretly watching Ollie flex his biceps out of the corner of her eye!

I’d like to introduce you to my last two characters.

They’ve been there for Amber from the very beginning, and although one can be a bit difficult, they love her dearly and only want what’s best for her.
Who am I talking about?

Carmine Darksky and Guiliana Bowman.

 

 

Carmine is Amber’s father. His fear of what others will think of her, should they discover her gift, has made him paranoid to the point of keeping her locked away from the world. He’s lived a long time, but never has he loved the way he loves Amber; the way he loved her mother, Lenora.

 

 

Raoul Bova reminds me so much of Carmine.

 

 

Guili is Amber’s confidant/friend/mother figure. She understands Amber’s need for freedom more than anyone can know, but she also knows why Carmine is so determined to keep his daughter caged. That doesn’t stop her from helping Amber though…

Although Lucard seems like the bad guy, playing with Amber’s mind, wanting to drink her blood, killing humans…he’s not really that evil, I swear!!

When I was writing my first draft of THERIAN, the video for Rihanna’s Russian Roulette came on TV one day, and the tortured look on Jesse Williams’ face told me that this was my Lucard. I just love him.

Let's get to know Tayelon Cree a little better!

 

CFU’s star quarterback, Tayelon Cree is not your typical meathead jock. He’s compassionate, charismatic and liked by almost everyone who knows him. He loves Amber but is forced to make a tough choice at the end of the book that could have her hating him forever…only time will tell.

Out of all my characters, I had the hardest time finding the perfect Tayelon. I went back and forth between a number of celebrities, but eventually settled on Chris Riggi. He was my first choice when I started looking and I think he suits the character more than anyone else J
