On a bright summer afternoon, Story and her two best friends, Elliott and Adam, take a hike to the lake, where they dive into the cool water and never reemerge. What they find is beyond anything they’ve ever imagined could be possible, a world where dangers lurk in the form of Big Bad Wolves, living Nightmares and meddlesome witches and gods.

Now Story must remember who she really is and somehow stop two worlds from ultimate annihilation, all while trying not to be too distracted by the inexplicable pull she feels toward a certain dark-eyed traveler who seems to have secrets of his own. The fates of the worlds are counting on her.

REVIEW

 

 Jam-packed with magic and mayhem, this was a stellar read.

An intricate, well-woven story of friendship, love, intrigue, lies and emotion. I was enthralled from start to finish.

 

I enjoyed every second spent in the fairytale world that Story and her friends found themselves in, and, even more, I loved exploring it and discovering the new types of beings and elements within this world. This book was one filled with plenty of imagination and it certainly took mine on a wild ride. Other exciting elements were the well-known fairytale characters who took on quite different personas in this story. The idea of the split between the Real World and Tressla was simply brilliant, and the comparisons between the two were awe-inspiring.

 

This book was well-paced and intelligently plotted. Lovers of fantasy will be thrilled with this book, and they will get plenty of bang for their buck. A must read that you'll lose yourself in.
