REVIEW of Tequila Sunrise (Cocktail Cruises #1)
My immediate reaction to this story was - Where do I sign up??!! Cocktail Cruises sounded amazing, and I couldn't wait to go along for the ride.
This book should have the subheading, "The Single Girls Guide" because it certainly had plenty of sound advice, the Savvy Tips at the beginning of each chapter were brilliant.
Right off the bat, I loved that Louise was a real woman, and that she wasn't completely intimidated by the skimpy bikinis that surrounded her on the cruise. And then, of course, I loved that Toby wanted a real woman, and wasn't interested in those bikini clad sticks on legs.
I wouldn't say that their chemistry was smoking hot, but there was a bit of spark between them, and I enjoyed seeing that spark ignite into something more from time to time. I will admit, though, that if a guy had to start kissing his way up my arm within a few hours of having met, I might have to escape and run for my life. It felt a bit weird that they seemed to get so cozy so quickly and easily, but that's just me :)
As for the Charming Hearts fiasco, I was glad that Lou was willing to stand up for what was right. This book wasn't only a fun escapade, it had a strong message about confidence and knowing ones true worth and value, and to never allow anyone, not even a billion dollar company let you feel like anything less.

Valentine’s Day.” He cocked his head when she didn’t answer. “I take it you're not a fan?”“Of marriage? Or Valentine’s Day?” Not either one, she wanted to say. She set her glass down after another sip. “Thanks for the drink. But I think I’ll be going.” First conversations never needed to last longer than a few minutes. She’d leave him wanting more.
The Author
Allie was born and raised in a tiny community in upstate New York, which probably explains her fascination with the magic of small town life. She holds a B.A and M.A. in English Literature and is a full-time high school English teacher in the northern NYC suburbs, where she currently resides. When she isn’t teaching or writing, she and her husband love to travel both in the United States and abroad.
