Karpov Kinrade have a deep connection to their readers and said this about the change, “It's exciting to consider what innovative ways we can use this technology to enhance and customize the reader experience…Readers--to our delight--have found the book to be much more than a simple romance, with deeper literary themes that give it greater weight. We feel the new cover and title better reflect the nature of the book and give new readers a more complete picture of what to expect from this novel."

When the Heart Falls (Deveaux #1)

"One star breaks off from the others, shooting across the sky, a bright light trailing behind
it, and I finally understand why people wish on dying stars. Because something always has
to die for life to give birth to a new dream."

Winter Deveaux knows pain. She knows fear. She knows heartache. What she doesn't
know is love. Which is a real problem for someone trying to write a romance novel. When a
chance to spend a summer in Paris promises her a cure to her writer's block, she packs her
bags, never suspecting that the source of her darkest secret will follow her across the world.
Cade Savage is a man torn between two worlds. As son to the wealthiest ranching family in
Texas, being a cowboy is in his blood, but his heart is set on architecture. He has one shot
to decide his fate: a summer course in Paris.

Winter and Cade leave everything they know behind to follow their dreams to the city of
lights, but they soon learn you can't run from the demons that haunt you.
In a story of heartbreak, humor, forgiveness and finding love, these two lost souls must
face their darkest fears before they can claim their heart's desires.

But summer love can't last forever, and soon they must choose between their future and
their past. Between their dreams and their love. Between their secrets, and forgiveness.
Can they forgive the unforgivable in order to find happiness? Or are some people beyond
forgiveness?

REVIEW

Le Sigh.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about this book every time I think of it.

Le Sigh. It was a fantastic read from beginning to end! It's one of those reads that latches on to you and refuses to let go, and no matter how many times you say "just on more page", you keep going until there are no more pages to turn.

Le Sigh. It had such amazing, endearing characters.

Le Sigh. It was filled with beautiful romance, steamy passion, bellyaching humor, and heart breaking pain and anguish.

Le Sigh. Cade Savage...need I say more :)

What started out as a fun, adventure-filled trip to Paris, soon turned into an emotional roller coaster ride, with amazing highs and crushing lows.

This story took me from crying with laughter one second to crying with the gut-wrenching heartache I felt for the characters, as they each faced their demons, the next.

I immediately fell for Cade. With his charming, chivalrous ways, and seriously, who can resist a sexy cowboy! I loved how protective and caring he was with Stevie. Le Sigh. Family life was strained in the Savage household and I had to wonder what the real story was behind the tension.

Winter was a real sweet character. I loved her loyalty to Jenifer. Even when Jeni messed up, over and over again, Winter was always there for her, ready to pick up the pieces if need be. Of course, the two of them shared a strong bond, and if they didn't before, they certainly did after indulging in Rocco's famous pastries!

I really liked that Cade and Winter's relationship developed over time and only progressed to the next level when they really knew and trusted each other. Their love felt pure and real. Although they each had their secrets, as their love developed, so they found the strength to confide in each other. I have to admit that I was a little shocked by Winter's confession. I knew there was something up with Rodney, and from her aversion to physical contact it wasn't difficult to figure out what had happened in the past, but never had I thought it was as terrible as it turned out to be.

Winter's spirit and passion for life, even through the horror, was inspiring. Even though she saw herself as weak, she was the total opposite. Physically, emotionally and mentally, she proved time and again that her past couldn't break her, and Cade's love only lifted her higher. In many ways they were very similar - two broken souls looking for the light in the darkness, looking to prove to the world that their dreams were more than just fantasy.

This story was well paced, allowing the reader to get a real sense of everything Paris had to offer, good and bad. At times it felt like I was really there, exploring the city of love along with Winter and Cade. If you weren't in love with the city before, you surely will be after reading this book.

This story offered me everything I've come to expect from a great romance read. It was spectacular!

It gets...

Let's get to know the Karpov Kinrade team a little better :)

Thank you, both, so much for joining us today. It's a pleasure having you on my blog!!

1. Tell us a bit more about yourself.

KK: I'm a happily married (to my co-author) mom of three who loves to read, write and spend time with my family. I also have the best job in the world--making up stories!

DK: I love cats, and my favourite food is chicken. Bacon is a close second. My favourite genre to read is epic fantasy. My favourite thing in the world is spending time with Kimberly and our kids.

2.      Have you always wanted to be an author?

KK: I've always been a writer, ever since I was little. When I ran out of teeth to sell to the Tooth Fairy, I wrote short stories and poems and sold them to family and friends. I was working professionally as a journalist for a major daily Los Angeles newspaper my first year in college and have been writing ever since. But it wasn't until about two years ago that I finally started publishing fiction novels, which has always been my first calling, but took a while to get there for me.

DK: I started taking writing seriously in the seventh grade. However, I wasn't sure I'd do it professionaly for years to come. Growing up, I liked both acting and writing, but at the end of highschool, I decided that writing would provide me with a more relaxed lifestyle. Also, I was better at writing than acting, so that helped sway my decision.

3.      What genre do you love to read? Who are some of your favourite authors?

KK: I love fantasy, paranormal, thrillers (psychological), mystery, young adult and new adult, and some science fiction. My favorite authors include Patti Larsen, Neil Gaiman, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, C.S. Lewis… the list is long!

DK: I read all genres but my favourite is epic fantasy. My favourite authors are Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Mark Lawrence, and George R.R. Martin.

4.      If you could be a character from any of your books, who would you be?

KK: I'd probably be Rose from the Seduced Saga. She's got some pretty cool powers! But I also love Lucy from the Forbidden series, and she'll be in the Fallen series with some great storylines, so I might pick her. She can always tell when people are lying, is a kickass martial artist and a computer hacker. Yeah, I'd have to say Lucy!

DK: I'd be Hunter from the Forbidden series which I served as a consultant on. He has cool powers that make him very agile and an awesome high-tech sword.

5.      What is the best advice you could give other writers about writing or publishing?

KK: Learn the craft and learn the business. They're different animals, but you won't make it in this new world of publishing without being a student of both. And never stop learning. Also, don't give away your rights to anyone without really knowing what you're doing. In other words, don't sign anything until a lawyer who specializes in publishing contracts and has ONLY your interest at heart has looked over it and given their feedback.

DK: Keep writing. Don't get hung up on marketing your first book. Don't give up if it doesn't become a bestseller. Keep writing. Release more books. You'll make a living as an author. You'll make a living doing what you love. Keep writing.

6.      How was the idea for Kiss Me In Paris born?

KK: The initial concept was inspired by a picture I saw of a couple in silhouette kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower. From there, we created Winter and Cade and their stories.

DK: We wanted to write a book that appealed to many types of readers, and I think we succeeded.

7.      Did you put any of your own personal romance into this book?

KK: I think anytime we write romance, our own romance seeps into the pages a little. We didn't use any specific scenes from our own life, but certainly the passion, the excitement of first love, the attraction and chemistry, is all inspired by our own!

DK: Our romance definetly helped inspire a lot of the witty banter between Winter and Cade. They have great chemistry.

8.      Kiss Me In Paris is a step away from the Fantasy/Paranormal Romance genre, how did writing this book differ from your others?

KK: It was a unique challenge, one we weren't sure if we'd enjoy initially. (We did, though, so much!) Without paranormal abilities, shapeshifters, witches, magic or any other fantasy element, we had to rely on human emotion, relationships and the depth of human drama to tell the story. It was a wonderful experience, getting so 'real' with our characters and putting them through so much pain and pleasure as they worked out the truth about their lives. It became one of our favorite books.

DK: Trying to keep the story exciting was definetly the hardest part. But by writing a contemporary novel we were able to write something that most human beings can relate to.

9.      Are you working on your next book? What can you tell us about it?

KK: We have a few projects in the works. Kiss Me in Cairo (Autumn's story) is on the schedule and will be a mix of murder mystery and romance. But we're also working on a serial Kiss Me book called Kiss Me Forever that will feature the sexy Damon Deveaux, a cousin to the Deveaux sisters. His book will come out in volumes and give us a chance to explore a different kind of romance while we work on the full length books. We also have another Seduced by Lies volume coming out soon (part of the bestselling Seduced Saga) and I have another Three Lost Kids trilogy in the works called The Forbidden Book. So much fun!

DK: Kimberly listed all of our current projects, so all I can say is, they'll be awesome. Make sure you read them!

10.  Is there any exciting news you’d like to share with us?

KK: Mostly, we're excited about all the books coming out this year, and how much our fans are enjoying the books we already have out now! I'd say, sign up for our newsletter and/or street team and keep an eye out, because we've got a lot of fun planned for our fans this year!

DK: And make sure to check out Kiss Me in Paris. It's was our first co-written book, and we can't wait to hear what you think.

Review and Promo: Kiss Me In Paris by Kimberly Kinrade and Dmytry Karpov

Travel to the most romantic city in the world and fall in love with Winter and Cade!

If reviewers can be believed—and OF COURSE they can be—then Kiss Me in Paris is an epic tale of love, romance, family, friendship and forgiveness. For those of you who might think this book is just another insipid romance, not so my friend.

Not so.

You will pee your pants laughing and cry your eyes out weeping. You will become so angry you might need to punch something, and you will sigh in pure happiness. One reviewer even left part of her soul IN THE WORDS OF OUR BOOK.

Yes, this is the power of Kiss Me in Paris. It's SOUL STEALING, and we are not going to apologize for that.

You see, we are the authors, and we are married, living our own epic romance. So epic we even had a fan-following during the early days of our courtship. So we know love.

And we know you will love Kiss Me in Paris—a book that has garnered only FIVE STAR REVIEWS on Amazon as of the writing of this, and, we hope, forever and always!

This week is our wedding anniversary, and Kiss Me in Paris is our first book baby, so we're celebrating by offering this EPIC SAGA for only $2.99. That's $2 off launch price and less than the cost of a cup of coffee.

And it's fat free, gluten free, calorie free and won't stain your teeth.

It will also take you longer to read than a cup of coffee takes you drink, and it will give you an entire adventure in Paris. Unless you're drinking your coffee right there in the city of love, no coffee is going to do that for you.

If you are drinking your coffee in Paris right now, then firstly, we're jealous (send us a postcard, mmkay?), and secondly, still read this book, because PARIS. And LOVE. And EPICNESS.

Here's the part where we tell you about the book, but it's really not enough to do it justice. So let us first say that there is just so much in Kiss Me in Paris. Layered themes and a sexy cowboy studying to be an architect, and a girl who's a dreamer with a dark past, and gargoyles and Notre Dame and mazes designed by futuristic architects (because that's an actual thing, and Cade will tell you what that means), and heartbreak and love and happy endings and evil and just SO MUCH.

But here's the 'official' blurb about Kiss Me in Paris.
Kiss Me In Paris

When the city of love brings two lost souls together, only their darkest secrets can tear them apart.

Winter Deveaux tried love once. It didn't end well. Unable to open herself up to another heartbreak, she hides in her romance novels as she struggles to break out as a real author. She thinks Paris holds the answer to a new start, but when her nightmare follows her across the world, she's forced to face the darkness living like cancer inside her soul. If she doesn't, she might miss her chance to become the kind of writer she's always wanted to be. But more than that, she'll miss out on the greatest love she's ever known.

Cade Savage is heir to the largest ranching family in Texas. Part cowboy, part architect, Cade has his feet forever in two worlds. When he receives an acceptance letter from the school of his dreams, he must decide between family and destiny. But ghosts from his past still haunt him, and circumstances beyond his control may decide his fate.

When Winter and Cade meet, everything they believe about life, love and what it means to be happy is put to the test.

Will the magic of Paris pull these two lost souls together? Or will their darkest secrets tear them apart?

Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Full length novel: 87, 000 words

Kiss Me in Paris is a standalone novel in the Kiss Me Series. Travel the world with the Deveaux sisters as they find love, and trouble, in all the right places.

REVIEW

This story offered me everything I've come to expect from a great romance read. It was spectacular!

"Paris is pregnant with layers of history, colored with the ink of artists who dared to dream of a world only they could see."

"It's like I'm giving birth from my mouth." <You'll understand this when you get to chapter 5. Then you'll pee your pants laughing.>

"It's the nature of being human that, in our own blindness, we lash out and blind others."

"I think of Winter, of her smile, her eyes, her arms wrapped around me, and I know where home is. It's wherever she is, and right now she is too far away. My heart has escaped my body and is walking Paris without me."

"She opened herself to him, and, in that moment, she opened herself to the world. Let it hurt her. Let it burn her veins, boil her blood and scorch her heart. For where there could be pain, there could be pleasure and love. She would be cold no longer. She would melt the hearts of others, and in turn, they would melt hers. She would feel the full spectrum of emotions and cry. She would be human. And she would be happy."

And this is just a SAMPLE. It's like hearing an inside joke if you weren't at the party. So go to the party, and by this stretched metaphor we mean READ THE BOOK. Then you can laugh and *le sigh* and cry and be a part of the cool crowd.

Also, we have a blog post over at http://KimberlyKinrade.com where we write about our first kiss. And we had our first kiss within 5 minutes of being face to face for the first time. Intrigued? Check it out here and enter more giveaways! >> http://bit.ly/19MRTuJ

Pick up your copy of Kiss Me in Paris on Amazon, B&N, and wherever ebooks are sold (Except iBooks, sadly, because they are taking FOREVER to publish books. So if you have an iPad, iPhone or iAnything, get an Amazon app for free and you're set). Look for the paperback and hardback coming soon.
