Picture Perfect by Elisabeth Grace
(Limelight #2)

Publication date: March 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Being the daughter of a big-city mayor, twenty-one year old Skye Summers has giant shoes to fill in her first real job out of college. With the public spotlight on her family, and her dad’s expectations running high, she jumps at the chance to work side-by-side on an important project with her sexy new boss.

Playboy entrepreneur Landon Steele has built a successful entertainment PR firm and broken more than a few hearts along the way. He’s counting on his enthusiastic new assistant to help him expand his business into LA… until he discovers she’s a pampered rich girl who’s in the public spotlight as much as his famous clients. Still, he agrees to give her a chance, and soon the two are heating up the bedroom as well as the boardroom.

But when Skye’s ex-boyfriend threatens to reveal a dangerous secret from her past, her job, relationship with Landon, and her father’s career are suddenly all on the line. Will she be forced to leave Landon? Or will she pursue her heart, regardless of the cost?

REVIEW

I really liked Skye when I met her in Rumor Has It and I was excited to read her story. I was a little surprised that she was so prim and proper (or seemed to be) because in the first book in the Limelight Series she came off as kinda being the opposite.
Either way, she was a great character and her story intrigued me. Of course, Mr Steele only added to this story’s hotness factor, and the sexual tension between these two characters has smoking. Their relationship started off with a bang – well, almost – but once the realization hit that they’d be working together things simmered down a bit, only to grow into something so much more than it might have been had they done any more the night they’d first met.
One thing that really stands out when reading Grace’s work is the positivity and strong message she delivers with each story. And of course I agree, no man (or for that matter woman) should ever lay a hand on their partner in violence. It is not acceptable.
This book wasn’t quite as exciting as the first book in this series, but I did enjoy watching Skye and Landon’s love blossom and bloom. They were both passionate about the things that really mattered to them and although certain occurrences could have been handled differently, I liked how real this couple felt. This was an enjoyable and entertaining read.

Review: Rumor Has It by Elisabeth Grace #Limelight

Rumor Has It by Elisabeth Grace

(Limelight #1)

All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.

But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is this husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.

There’s only one little problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Fame and fortune are his calling cards and he’s vying to steal the show on a new reality TV series that will catapult him into mainstream stardom. Hello spotlight.

The man behind the famous persona is perfect for Ellie in every way, but can she overcome the ugly pitfalls that come with Mason's celebrity status? Or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and the independent life she longs for? After all, fame and fortune aren’t always what they seem and not all publicity is good publicity…

***Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.***

REVIEW

Every time I think of this book I have an AWWWW moment! Ellie and Mason are so perfect together and I instantly fell in love with them - as individuals and as a couple.

I think I would have ran as far and as fast as I could from that house had my introduction to a gorgeous man gone down the way it had for Ellie, or perhaps I would have feigned a serious head injury or pretended to have blacked out just so I wouldn't have to face the embarrassment, but it did make for a hilarious icebreaker.

The chemistry was off the charts with these to amazing people and I rooted for them from start to finish. This story was funny, endearing and filled with some seriously smoking intimate moments. Ellie and Mason were two very different people but with so many similarities that together they just made sense. Of course, Mason's life threw a wrench into things on more than one occasion but I was glad they were able to work through things together, until the final catastrophe that almost tore them apart.

Ellie seemed to grow so much as a person as the story developed. It was great that she was able to open up to Mason, and in return he was able to do the same with her. It also showed just how much she loved him when she let go of some of her insecurities and hang ups to be with him, accepting the fact that dating a famous hip-hop star would mean she'd be in the spotlight. She also seemed to gain some of her confidence and power back, and her anti-bullying, empowering video kicked ass.

This story had it's bleak, dark and heartbreaking moments, but it held so many positive messages that it wasn't difficult getting excited about it. I loved every second of it!
