Charlie Williams’ view on relationships is simple—one night, no strings, move on. But when the opportunity to see a girl from his past comes up, Charlie finds himself breaking all his own rules. Ever since the night he’d turned her away, Charlie hasn’t been able to get Charlotte off his mind. A break from his pub for a vacation across the pond should be enough to cure him of his curiosity and get her out of his system. At least, he hopes… Charlotte Mackay channels love through coffee. Running her fandom-themed store and specialty coffee bar keeps her nerdy heart busy after one too many relationship disappointments. Until the man she can’t manage to forget calls. Charlie’s coming to The Hamptons for a two-week vacation. She’s going to be his host—nothing more. She’d fallen under the spell of his bedroom eyes and roguish charm once before, and it nearly wrecked her. Charlotte can’t risk the same mistake twice. But love knows no boundaries when two hearts collide.

REVIEW
Charlie and Charlotte's story was beautiful and heartrending. Two amazing characters who instantly stole my heart, I was cheering for them every step of the way.

Charlie may be portrayed as a womanizing player, but he's the type of guy who has a heart of gold and is so damn irresistible that you can't help falling for him, flaws and all. He is what ever romance reader wants from a male lead - the "bad boy" just waiting for the right woman to come along (and, of course, that sexy accent warrants special mention, too!). Not that he needed rescuing, per se, it was just that Charlotte offered him everything he needed and wanted, and the experience took him completely by surprise. I loved the moment when he realized that there was more to this stunning woman.

Charlotte was adorable. I loved everything about her, especially the fact that she wasn't afraid to be who she was. She was dorky, fun and sweet. I loved how she stood up for her dreams and wasn't going to let anything, not even love, stand in the way of them.

When things started to go south, my heart was in my throat. Watching Charlie fall to pieces pained me so much and I just wanted to reach into this book and give him the biggest hug. Charlotte went through her own turmoil but I think it devastated Charlie in ways he never knew were possible. Thankfully they both had amazing friends in their corners, ready to help them pick up the pieces, and just waiting to give them a swift kick up the rear when they needed it most.

This book was filled with sexual tension and the chemistry between Charlie and Charlotte was all fiery passion, but in a way that was real and believable. The emotion and angst was relatable which only sucked me further into this story and made the characters more endearing. Knoebel and Loveday didn't make things easy for either of them, even at those moments when I though "Yes! Finally, this is when everything will fall into place and all will be right in the world again.". They proved that love can be messy, it can be hard, and it's all about compromise, understanding and acceptance - It's also about not letting go, even when it seems like everything has gone to hell.

P.S. If you're not all about hearts and romance, this book is worth the read just for The Raven's Den alone! Please tell me a place like this really exists!!! If not, we need to rectify that STAT!

When Two Hearts Collide

Snippet 1:

I wasn't one to much stock into fate. Nor was I one for reading into signs. All of it was pure and complete hooey to me. There was no impactful moment when a person looked into someone’s eyes and, BAM, that was it. That they were the one because something in the way they connected told a person they’d found it. Love. Or whatever it was that made two people decided to align themselves together, infuriating habits and all, for the rest of their lives.
-Charlie

Snippet 2:

Charlie was otherworldly.
Kind. Funny. Smart. Witty.
He was exactly what I’d been looking for. Yet, entirely complicated.
That was my luck though.
Of course I’d find myself a man I thought I could really see a future with, knowing that future wasn’t as easily attainable as the chemistry between us was. Even with the amazing sex and small moments of true connection, I still didn’t think I could pick up and leave. Not my shop. The Raven’s Den was everything to me.
“If I fall asleep, luv, my apologies,” he said as he moved closer to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. “I don’t think I can keep my eyes open much longer. Ye’ve worn me out.”
I snuggled against him, trying not to think about the future. Tried to enjoy the small moment of perfection. A marked day that was as rare as finding a living unicorn. Because those moments were quickly approaching their end, and I had a heart to prepare for when it came time for one of us to make a choice.
-Charlotte

Release Day Blast: #Giveaway + Review: Runaway Heart by Sonya Loveday & Candace Knoebel #GameofHearts

Purchase on Amazon: http://amzn.to/1IX03Gj
Add it on Goodreads
One Hurricane. Two Strangers. No Rules.

Hannah Adamson was immune to relationships. Swearing men off long ago, she buried her painful reasons under her feisty independence and a passion for roller derby. Until she met Ed and was swept away by the tall, witty, sarcastically sexy best man who might just be the one to have the antidote for her runaway heart.

Ed Alcott wasn’t looking for love, especially not after a particularly nasty breakup left him with a shattered heart in desperate need of repair.

Taking shelter together when a hurricane bears down on Rum Cay, Hannah and Ed find they can't fight their growing attraction. It was supposed to be simple. Easy. A weekend of passion with no strings. But how do you forget the one who stripped away all your layers, and haunts your dreams?

Can Hannah keep the scattered pieces of her heart in check, or will the promise of Ed’s love be enough to mend them back together?

REVIEW

It’s official. Ed is my new favorite book boyfriend.
This story was romantic, with just enough steam to satisfy my naughty side. The chemistry between Ed and Hannah was obvious from the first second they laid eyes on each other and it only intensified from there on out. I loved the flirtatiousness that sparked every time they interacted, and I was glad to see both their walls come crumbling down as their relationship developed. It took a bit longer than expected, but I had hope that they’d find their way to happiness eventually.
This book wasn’t all hearts and roses. The darkness that haunted Hannah seeped into her life and polluted her desires, making it difficult for her to see how sweet and amazing Ed was, he on the other hand wasn’t quite as closed off, but he still shielded his heart because of the hurt he’d dealt with in the past. This made for plenty of hurdles, and it was just a matter of whether they were prepared to jump over them or not.
I loved that the authors highlighted a very serious and tragic matter through this story. I hope that anyone who has had to endure what some of these characters lived through will find the courage to remove themselves from the situation, and to know and believe in their self-worth.
A story about love, courage, healing and acceptance, this book was filled with hope and lifted my spirits. If you enjoyed Love, Always, you will fall head over heels for Runaway Heart.
