EXCERPT
Her
long, brown hair hung limply as she lifted her chin and met my
gaze. Her sunken eyes, even surrounded by dark circles, were the most
beautiful hazel I’d ever seen. “Queen Kenna-Dee, how long have
you been trapped here?”
I
had to lean in close to hear her faint whisper. “Far too long, Praesidia.
My light is fading; I fear death is nigh.”
An
ache formed in my throat and my focus narrowed so I only saw
this diminutive creature of the Fae before me. Even though faeries
had caused us nothing but trouble in the past, I found myself asking,
“What can I do to help?”
She
expelled a tiny breath and turned slightly where she sat on my finger.
“Get me out of this place.”
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Holli Anderson has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing--which has nothing to do with writing, except maybe by adding some pretty descriptive injury and vomit scenes to her books. She discovered her joy of writing during a very trying period in her life when escaping into make-believe saved her. She enjoys reading any book she gets her hands on, but has a particular love for anything fantasy.
Along with her husband, Steve, and their four sons, she lives in Grantsville, Utah--the same small town in which she grew up.
