Join forces with a parallel universe.
Dark forces, magical creatures, and the world Lil thought she knew collide when a dream transports her to the strange world of Orenda. Stunned and terrified, Lil comes face to face with her doppelganger, Willow, who possesses the ability to travel between the two worlds. Everything Lil knows logically says that Orenda can’t exist, but a small clue may be proof that it was more than an ordinary dream. With the threat of her sister in danger, Lil crosses dimensions but it may cost her even more than she bargained for.
A sword wielding girl, the eternal suit, and a parallel universe come together in this action-packed Young Adult fantasy adventure that will keep readers of all ages turning the pages. Orenda is the first novel in the Orenda series.
REVIEW
I was first drawn to this book by its beautiful cover. I am so in love with it, and I'd have added it to my TBR pile no matter what lay beneath the cover just because it is so stunning.
Thankfully, what lay beneath the cover was an amazing and enthralling fantasy adventure with exciting characters, interesting mythology and spellbinding magic, with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure.
I wasn't completely sold on this story at the very beginning, but the minute Lil found herself in Orenda and all chaos ensued, I was hooked and along for the ride. With writing that flowed off the page it was easy to fall into the pages of this book and get lost in the mystical world created by Silver. There were times when I felt things happened to easily for the characters, or perhaps there wasn't quite enough conflict in particular situations, but I was enjoying this read so much I didn't allow that to deter me.
The final moments when Lil and her friends returned to Elfinland were heart-wrenching. I had to wonder if the circumstances were for the best what with Lil and Hudson being from different worlds, but I am hopeful that things may change for the better in book 2.
Overall this was an great read that will appeal to readers of all ages.
