Kiss Me Dead
By- Dale Ibitz
Genre- New Adult Urban Fantasy/Romantic Suspense

One curse . . .

Christian, a nineteen-year-old reaper-human hybrid enslaved to the Other World to harvest souls, earns his freedom by making a bargain with the Goddess of Death. As part of the bargain, he’s been cursed with the kiss of death.

One kiss . . .

The only way Christian can break his curse is for an angel to kiss him. Willingly. He finds Brooke, a nineteen-year-old descendant of a Naphil whose destiny is to hunt rogue reapers, suffocating in a semi-agoraphobic cocoon since witnessing a reaper steal her brother’s soul.

Two destinies . . .

Christian has found the angel who can break his curse, and the seduction begins. To break her phobia’s hold, Brooke embraces her angelic role and makes it her mission to kill rogue reapers to avenge her brother’s murder. Christian can break his curse by kissing Brooke dead . . . but will she figure out his game and kill him first?

CHARACTER BIOS

Brooke

A 19 year-old college girl who’s in a semi-agoraphobic state since witnessing a reaper steal her brother’s soul. She has some quirks: she’s extremely tall, can’t tell a lie, and can’t break a promise. She likes to wear her dead brother’s t-shirts, because it makes her feel close to him. She has a fat cat who cons her into giving her (too many) treats. She’s never had a serious boyfriend, mostly because she hates leaving the house because the reapers freak her out. Brooke, who’s been able to see reapers since the age of fourteen, doesn’t know she’s a long, long long lost descendant of a Naphil. She doesn’t know she has the power to kill reapers. She doesn’t know she’s about to meet the one reaper she doesn’t want to kill.

Christian

Tall, darkly handsome, and scarred both physically and emotionally. This is a guy who’s been carrying a boat-load of guilt for decades. Born to a human mother and reaper father, he didn’t know that his father promised Christian’s life to the Goddess of Death before he was born. Despising the life of a reaper, he makes a bargain with the Goddess for his freedom, and she curses him with the kiss of death. Bad news, because he kills the woman of his dreams. Decades of guilt forces numerous attempts at suicide, but nothing can undo the curse. Until he meets Brooke. If she kisses him willingly, his curse is broken...but she has to die as well. He hadn’t planned on liking her, let alone falling in love.

William

Tall and burly, he has a Jersey Boy-steroid build. William is Christian’s great-uncle, and is also a human-reaper hybrid. Unlike Christian, he embraces the Other World with sarcasm and a don’t-care attitude. He has a huge chip on his shoulder, feeling betrayed and rejected by everyone who used to love him, including Christian. Despite his love-hate relationship with his great-nephew, he’ll let bygones be bygones as long as Christian comes back to the Other World and be a family once again...the one thing William wants most in the world.

About the Author

Dale Ibitz was born in Connecticut, grew up in the state of Washington, and then re-located back to Connecticut as an adult, where she studied English at Central Connecticut State University. Always a lover of books, she spent much of her childhood reading, visiting the library (her best friend’s mother was a librarian), and writing. In sixth grade, she placed 3rd in a writing contest, and she’s never stopped.
Dale’s a fan of hiking and the outdoors, seriously good writing, and she never, ever starts the day without chocolate and coffee (preferably together). Music inspires her, and she likes to listen to alternative metal.

If you were to visit Dale’s house, you'd meet her husband, 2 kids, their dog Lea (most people simply refer to her as The Beast...and for good reason), their cat Luna (affectionately known as Loony Luna), and a couple of loud-beaked parakeets.
