After his father’s death, Reider relinquished reign of the wolf pack to his brother Geoff, leaving everything—including Sable—behind, but refused to let go of the one thing his father ever gave him: the amulet that symbolized leadership. Six months later, Geoff is missing and the Conclave has called him to the Hotel Paranormal. They want him to take control of the Great Basin pack or hand over the amulet reserved for the alpha of the Great Basin Pack. Reider quickly learns the amulet is coveted by many. Can Reider unravel the mystery and find his brother or will he submit to Sable and the Conclave and reclaim his reign.

EXCERPT
Reider was done arguing. Done worrying
about how he was going to continue to control himself around Sable. When he’d
seen the singular room, and the king size bed, he’d had to fight every urge to
rewind the clock and take possession of her again.
The scent of her flesh was
intoxicating, and he couldn’t suppress the image of her long legs wrapped
around his waist.
Reider followed Sable into the
elevator, as memories from the not so recent past crashed down on him. His hand
remembered how it felt to grip her flesh and his lips still burned from the
touch of hers. He resisted the old habit of wrapping a protective arm around
her waist by stuffing his hands into his pockets.
Going back to the pack with her
wouldn’t be fair to either of them. He’d only have to leave again when Geoff
surfaced. A big part of him needed to believe he would. If not he would the
pressure to return to Cold Springs and step up to the role his father gifted
would be too much to bare.
Sable’s admission that she feared Geoff
was dead—not missing—had forced him to set his hunger for her aside…for now.
It’d been easy to walk away from the
pack when his brother was there to step up and fill their father’s paws, but if
his brother had been killed for that favor, could Reider continue to ignore
Preston’s will?
Had his father known Geoff couldn’t
handle being in charge? Is that why he’d given the amulet to Reider?
If so, did Reider carry the brunt of
the blame here?
He’d only had to argue with Sable for a
few more minutes, before she called Damien, and he agreed to meet the two of
them in the bar off the lobby.
The door opened, and they crossed the
lobby. At the door of the bar, Reider scanned the room, not only visually, but
in ways Sable couldn’t.
Damien was here all right, the other
wolf’s scent overtook Reider’s senses.
Sable didn’t hesitate, and she started
for the far corner. He grabbed her arm to keep her by his side until he knew
they were safe. “You need to be more careful,” he whispered.
“I can take care of myself. You’ve left me no other choice.”
