**I really enjoyed how she used so many emotions through out the book. I giggled and cried. I fell in love with all the characters. This story is about family, love, and finding your home. **This first novel by Maryann Jordan is so refreshing. It combines a passionate love story with a little mystery mixed in! Both of these combined makes for a story you cannot put down!

**Absolutely LOVED this book! I had the honor to beta read Emma's Home, and I was blown away! This is a very down to earth and realistic story that will touch your heart. Not only is it steamy sexy but the challenges that Emma faces would be completely overwhelming to others. If you are looking for a book that has a very strong female lead, this is the book!!

**I also love all the surrounding characters in Jake and Emma's lives. They are so supportive and funny. They bring so much life into the book as well. I have to say that I was surprised by the plot twist. I was not expecting anything like that to come into play in this book. However, I LOVED it. It broke this book away from all the other typical romances that are out there.

**Maryann has done an amazing job with Emma's home. Not only did she give us our love story but she gave us drama suspense and a little mystery. I loved the story from the first chapter. This story makes u smile laugh and hurt with the characters you are pulled into the story and crave to see what happens next. It's truly a must read.

**I truly LOVED this book. The story of Emma and Jake was super sexy and heart warming. Loved Jake's protectiveness. Loved Emma's independence. And the other characters were awesome as well and can't wait to catch up on them. Ladies, if you wear panties, leave 'em off, Jake will just melt them right off!!

EXCERPT

"Emma’s eyes shot up to Jake’s face. The face that kisses her so sweetly and whispers to her in the night. The face that calls her name when he comes inside of her. Now that face is so angry and his rage is focused on her. She could feel her chin begin to wobble, knowing tears were soon to follow.
Jake was aware of the change in her, felt her breathing hitch, and some of his ire release. Knowing that she needed reassurance he took her face gently in his powerful hands. “Emma girl, I’m not mad at you. I’m mad that someone is fucking with the woman I love. Someone has threatened you, scared you, and I didn’t know that was happening. And a man like me, does not like to find out that his woman is being fucked over. So baby, we need to know what’s goin’ on.”
Emma looked around at the room full of people, people that she knew cared about her. She had wanted to figure things out on her own and as much as she considered herself to be a strong woman, she was afraid. And now…. with someone trying to get inside her house, she was even more afraid. Looking down, she realized she was wringing her hands, trying to stop the shaking.
“Emma,” Jake said again softly, knowing that she was still in shock. “Tell us about the notes.”
Emma looked up into the baby blues that contained so much emotion; anger, fear, love. She knew she needed to trust that he would forgive her secretiveness and allow him to take care of her.

REVIEW

This book had all the makings of being a great romance read with any enthralling mystery to go along with it, and although it was entertaining and I was easily sucked into the story, there were just a few things lacking that kept me from enjoying this book 100%.
The biggest thing for me was that no matter how much I tried, I had a hard time liking the hero of this story, Jake. He started off as a bit of a creeper, stalking Emma out of concern for her safety, and then he became obsessive, paranoid and very possessive. It was a bit of a turn off; although, Emma didn’t seem to mind. In fact, his overprotectiveness was endearing to her. I was just a little annoyed by his lack of trust in Emma. He became jealous just thinking of her being in the same room with other men, but surely he had more faith in her love for him? There were moments when he was sweet, mostly when he shared his thoughts of Emma with me, but there were times when the words that poured from his mouth rubbed me the wrong way.
Even though I didn’t like Jake, it doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the overall story. There was a bit of predictability to the whole mystery of what was happening with Brad etc. but I was intrigued enough to ignore this and just let the secrets and lies of Emma’s new home town to unravel with each flip of the page.
There were a few moments in this book that really stood out for me. I really liked the little touches Jordan added when she switched the POV from Emma to Jake, and their thoughts were almost exact. They were little romantic gems that spoke of the bond these two characters shared. It was sweet.
This book had lots of potential, it just needed a bit more polishing and Jake needed a personality transplant.

I have always been an avid reader. Last year I started a blog to showcase wonderful writers. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created. I work as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 32 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap! I love to hear from readers, so please email me!
