REVIEW

I’m a huge fan of Lauren Blakely’s and I was so ready to dive right into this book, especially with the promise of needing spare panties when reading it, but I have to admit that I was disappointed.

I hate to rant about my dislikes, but I just didn’t connect with the story and the character’s chemistry was not as hot as I was expecting. Even the sex scenes were only mildly passionate. I will say, though, that it was refreshing to have a happy couple, aside from Julia’s little secret, with a healthy sex life. They weren’t into kink because of some messed up past, and this wasn’t a story about one character being taught the ropes in the bedroom. Julia and Clay were equals in every way.

Julia’s secret and the past that still haunted her was interesting and this aspect saved the story for me. I wanted to know more about how and why she’d been put in that position, and I’m hoping she’ll find a way out from her predicament.

The end of this story left things wide open – so much can happen in the next book and I’d like to see if Julia and Clay can finally put their demons to rest and find true happiness in each other’s arms.
