That is until she meets Nikolai, a guy as mysterious as he is handsome. And she unknowingly finds herself with a runaway prince.
Nikolai has everything a guy could ask for-he's crown prince, heir to the throne, and girls adore him. But the one thing he doesn't have...is freedom. Staging a coup, he flees his kingdom and goes undercover on his own European tour.
When Nikolai and Becca meet, it’s their differences that draw them together. Sparks fly as they share a whirlwind of adventures, all the while dodging his royal guard. But Becca's family vacation ends in a matter of days. Will Nikolai and Becca be forced to say goodbye forever, will his destiny catch up to him, or will they change history forever?
REVIEW
There was something very fun and magical about this story. It kind of reminded me a bit of Meg Cabot's The Princess Diaries and Nichole Chase's Suddenly Series, but with a refreshing take on the whole royal/commoner story.
There was so much to like about the characters, and the setting was just beautiful, even if Becca despised being surrounded by so much history. Europe is know for its rich culture and history, and I enjoyed immersing myself in it as much as I enjoyed the fun adventure that Nikolai and Becca found themselves on.
The interesting thing about these two, was how different but also how similar they were. Nikolai came from royalty and Becca was just an "uptight American commoner", but they both hated having to live by their parents rules. They were both seeking a way to find themselves, instead of walking the path they were expected to walk.
I loved all the sneaking around and little white lies. It was exciting and there was always that bit of suspense because at any time Becca's parents could find out the truth, or Nikolai's family could find him and drag him back to his duties as a prince. Then there was Dylan - Becca's brother. I really liked Dylan. He was carefree and looked out for his sister when he needed to but also had her back and allowed her to live a little. Something that caught my attention was the similarities that also existed between each pair of siblings. Dylan and Nikolai were both bolder when it came to defying their parents expectations, where as their sisters kind of rebelled but were more reluctant to do so.
This story was romantic, enthralling and just an all-round fantastic read.
