My name is Calla Price and I’m broken.

My pieces are all around me, floating on the wind, even as I desperately try to grasp them.

Who is dead? Alive? Insane?

What is the truth?

I don’t know.

I do know this: The darkness is strangling me. With every breath, I choke on another lie.

My mind has protected me, but that shield will soon be lowered.

All will be revealed.
Every answer to every question.

It’s all been leading to this.

Don’t be afraid.
Be terrified.

REVIEW

This book will chew you up and spit you out faster than you can say LUX! It will twist you up, take you past the brink of insanity and then push you right back, until you feel you have a grasp on reality, before it sucks you right back into the madness.

I thought I had experienced it all in Nocte and Verum, but this story just took everything I thought I knew and ripped it to shreds. At times it got a bit confusing and there were plenty of WTF moments, but I loved that Cole wrote this book in such a way that it places the reader in Calla's shoes, quite literally. Never, EVER, have I experienced the emotions, confusion, sense of de ja vu, and heartache of a character, as I did with this read. It was superb, and I'm still not quite sure if I have the brain capacity to wrap my head around everything that went down.

The thing I really loved about this book was the author's note at the end of the story. The fact that Cole gives her readers the right to make up their own mind on whether what they read was real or not. Was Calla crazy? Were any of the unexplainable events that took place plausible?

This series has been one dark, completely messed up ride through crazyville. It was fascinating, thrilling, devastating and brilliant.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
