Finding my fiancée naked on my couch might’ve been a good thing, if her ex-boyfriend hadn’t been with her. For the past eight years I’ve been a witness to the power of true love, but after getting burned I’d decided there wasn’t any hope for me finding it for myself. Until I met Noelle Brandt in a hotel bar. Maybe it wasn’t the most romantic meeting, but the moment I met her I knew I had to have her. The more I learn about her, the more I know I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.
I’d already found the love of my life, but I’d lost that love forever. And I’d been lost ever since. But one night a wounded man makes all of that go away. He makes me laugh, live, and feel alive. When he tells me he has no intention of letting me go, I finally begin to believe in the power of true love again. That is, until I find out who he really is…and by then, it’s far too late to correct the mistakes we’ve already made. By the time we both know the truth, the lines have already been blurred beyond recognition.

The Out of Lines Series has to be one of my favorite ever, and I was so glad to read Riley’s story. Carrie and Finn were amazing characters who found their happily ever after, and it was about time Riley found his. I will admit, though, that I didn’t like him all that much in the earlier books in the series, but, My.God. This book changed my mind completely.
Charming, sexy and sweet, Riley seemed to be perfect. He had his flaws, but they stemmed more from his desire to please his family and fit a certain mold. Unfortunately, at the most critical of times, this desire overrode the most important thing in his life and he almost lost it. I wanted to dislike him for how he reacted to the situation, but, like Noelle, it was difficult staying mad at him for long.
Noelle and Riley’s romance was a whirlwind of exhilaration and passion, starting off with a bang – literally – and continuing in much the same way throughout the rest of the book. They faced many ups and downs but there was no denying how amazing they were together. From total opposite sides of the spectrum, I think they were just what the other was looking for. They opened each other up to the possibilities of finding love, whether for the first time, or in Noelle’s case, for the second time around, after she had closed herself off.
This book was fun, romantic and emotional – everything I’ve come to expect from the amazing Jen McLaughlin.
